See what I mean?!? . While I was on BB I figured I might as well check out season 2 and yep it was on sale. Thought about waiting for the eventual Amazon price match, but the free shipping sealed the deal.

With all of the various Alice in Wonderland incarnations coming out on DVD this week to take advantage of the Tim Burton picture, I'm surprised the 1976 porno version didn't finally make it to disc. Does 20th Century Fox still own the rights? As I recall, it's one of the more highly regarded entries in the soft-core genre. The R-rated cut could probably even be sold in Walmart (as long as the stock boys took care not to shelve it in the family section!)

The $13 dollar Blu-rays at Target include all movies in the franchise. That's all 3 Pirates of the Carribean, and both of the National Treasure movies. I don't remember if all the Ice Age movies were included. They were spread out in my local target. Though not advertised, Serenity was also at this price.

Thanks, Gustavo.

It's always helpful to hear what Target's got going on during any given week. Their "and other select titles" is never too helpful when they've got good prices on titles...and I don't know what titles they're talking about!

[/QUOTE]Which $10 coupon? Think I need to get w/ the (Disney) program w/ their frequently available printed coupons for new releases.

Good to know. Would be very interested to see some reviews on this Alice miniseries after just checking Amazon for some details on it.

Might also be interested in 2012 and Where the Wild Things Are, if I can find better deals on them for blindbuys.

BTW, I see that WtWTA BD is already marked down to ~$20 at Amazon today. The 2-disc BD for 2012 also got marked down a tad.

It appears that it's not currently available thru Netflix...

Is it just me or has there been a drought of interesting BD titles so far this year?

This is the biggest snoozer week yet (though I guess Neverending is a biggie, just not for me).

I'm ready to buy, week after week, just not seeing the catalog titles that I'm looking for I guess (I have taken the opportunity to pre-order some upcoming titles and fill in some I haven't gotten yet, though).

I have 8 Blu-ray titles on pre-order from Amazon thru April. Lots of good stuff, good to me anyway, like Tombstone, or Toy Story. Plenty of titles coming to keep me spending.

I agree. There is some good stuff coming up (and not just BD but on DVD too). I just meant so far this year on BD, hasn't been so hot for me.

For me, January and February are usually extremely slow and this year wasn't any different. On the other hand, this March is huge (both seasons of Breaking Bad, a new Mystery Science Theater 3000 volume, South Park, Mad Men and the Toy Story movies) so I'm kinda glad that the first two months of the year weren't very crowded.

What is up with $ony and this PSP through PS3 digital copy? How many potential buyers could take advantage of that? Is any other studio doing that?

No. Other studios usually do either a Mac or Windows code. Sometimes its one or the other, but usually they give you a choice.

Just google "Ponyo Coupon" and it'll find the Disney coupons page.

On a side note, I was in Costco on Sunday and they had a LOT of BDs for $9.99 and $12.99 (regular price), including The Longest Day and all the Pirates flicks for $12.99 apiece.

Update/FWIW--the digital copy is on its own disc, and includes separate unlock codes for PC/Mac and for PSP. Side note--code must be redeemed by 3/2/11...wouldn't it be funny if instead of that date, the expiration date was 12/21/12? LOL!!!

Also worth noting--the Target "special edition" BD does not come in any special packaging (well at least the copy I picked up at my local Target didn't give any indication on the packaging/cover that the Discovery Channel special was included) indicating the inclusion of the Discovery Channel special (front cover says "Two-Disc Special Edition" just like the non-Target BD 2-disc special editions), which is on a separate BD disc found on the back side of the front cover...so for those of you looking to buy the Target version, make sure you pick up the right one.

I was bummed tonight. I had to make a quick stop into a Wal-Mart and thought I might pick up the 2012 BD there...but they only had the stripped down version for $24.96.

I'll be heading to Target (tomorrow, I hope).

Wanna talk about bummed, Mike? I snagged four of the five Babylon 5 seasons for $19.96 at Wal Mart...but I can't find the last one I need. Then, I've been to 2 different Best Buy's to grab the complete series of The Flash for $14.99 but neither had it. Earlier today, BB.com said one of them had at least one copy in stock. Now? The six closest stores to me apparently all have them.

And Amazon hasn't matched the price yet. (It has gone down $20...but $14.99 is a heck of a deal.)

Oh, the things we subject ourselves to in the name of good prices and smart buying, eh? :D
