So...since CC is a long enough drive for me, I figure I'll hit one of my local Wal-Marts on the way home tonight for Casino Royale and see what's up.

MISTAKE! They had CR for $19.96!

But, on the other hand, I DID find a title I've never seen for sale--Ordinary People. AND...it was just $6.44! Snatched that up!

So, decided to try my usual Wal-Mart...closer to home. My good friends there had CR marked for just $15.87. BUT ALL THEIR COPIES WERE MAR!!!

They also had Ordinary People for $6.44. in both places it was located on their shelves of new DVDs--adjacent to their new releases. While amazon.com lists the release date as 2001, these copies have a 2006 copyright date on the back.

So I went to Target and gladly paid $15.99 for the CR DVD. I hate trips like that. Took too long and paid too much. Should have just gone to CC!

I also reported in the Wal-Mart bin thread that one of those stores had several copies of both Superman Returns and Talladega Nights in their $5.50 bin.

Did anyone see ghost? I decided not to take the drive to best buy and just went to circuit city where I got the cool collector coin with my cr but they had no ghost! Anyone see it at target or best buy?

Got mine! It's not as exciting as Market Pantry Sparkling Water, but then, what is? :D

I made the mistake of waiting until Wednesday night to stop by my local Wal-Mart to pick up CR ($13.87). I had to search through the pallet display filled with scores and scores of MAR copies and I was able to find one remaining OAR WS copy buried in there.

As always...what you want to hope in those situations is that the WS copies all flew off the shelves and that all the FS copies are being left behind by discerning customers. That's what you hope. Whether it's really the case is, I guess, doubtful. But I've always got to have hope. ;)

Sad thing is, that even those casual customers who prefer widescreen would probably just buy the MAR version if that's all that was available.

There must still be a decent market for MAR, as I noticed Costco had both versions of CR. Recently, I thought they'd only been stocking widescreen.

With the increasing penetration of widescreen HDTV's, one would think the demand for MAR software would decrease. Then again, since when does logic drive those who purchase MAR titles? :rolleyes

I had to go to two CCs to get my CR. All the WS were sold out at one. I kept hunting around looking for one in a different spot, but no.

Fortunately the other CC (really close by) still had a fair number of WS left.

I wonder if the sales figures on CR are going to be huge?

My son & I watched it for the first time last night. It was really terrific! :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup:
