"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

--Just when I thought HD prices and release dates were settling down, I get a week like this week. Release dates are all over the place. Some retailers say they’ve got certain discs this week, others not. And, after last week’s rather uniform prices, this week they are again all over the place.

--Best Buy has an EXCLUSIVE GIFT SET of CARS for $29.99. Includes the DVD and four die-cast metal “Cars”.

--Best Buy also has a promotion that if you buy either Cars or the Cars Gift Set, you can get a free Cars 3-D poster. Minimum 50 per store.

Definitely getting Cars (a blind buy for me--will have to check out the bonus DVD features to see if it's worth the extra $$$) and Best of Carson. Kind of ironic that Target is offering a bonus CD with its sets of 90210 considering that several of the original tracks are missing due to "music rights issues".

Also, a heads up for next week: Target has a full page ad in the new Entertainment Weekly advertising its exclusive 3 disc set of "The DaVinci Code". I'll start a thread in the software section tomorrow.

Hey Eric, buddy-old pal, it would be great if you could get us some info on that Target bonus disc with Cars. A fella from Australia in the HTF Review of Cars said they had a bonus DVD down there. I'm wondering if it might be the same thing. he listed the material on the bonus DVD he has.

I was going to stick to my guns and not order this thing, but since Amazon's price is so good and I still need seasons 10-11, I'm just going to get this set and give my mom my seasons 1-9. I guess it's silly to even wonder if they added a play all feature to the early seasons that didn't have it.

I emailed Amazon and got a canned response about how preorders work.

Hmmm, without me tackling that giant long thread, can anyone tell me the perks of the new Bond sets? I assume each movie gets a two disc treatment? Are the tranfers improved? I already own all of the last releases, so I'm trying to determine if this is worth a double dip.

Lots of interesting things here...SE of Carousel, SE of Mutiny on the Bounty (1962), Coop films. Should I buy some individuals or go for the boxes?

I want to point out to the younger members that Carousel is a "film noir" Rogers & Hammerstien musical - if that isn't an oxymoron. I also want to point out that the 1962 Mutiny on the Bounty, the above photo notwithstanding, was shot in Technicolor on 70mm with 6 channel sound!

Finally! Sergeant York on dvd! Now I can retire my VHS copy. My dad and I have been waiting for this one a long time. My parents went to visit Alvin York's old home in Tennesse several years ago. It's a museum now and my dad got to sit down and talk to his son for an afternoon. He had a great time.
