Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, the week of the release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website...but it COULD still be in-stores!
I only include the titles I feel like including. In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. I have a lovely wife and a four-year-old son I'd rather spend time with. Please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like I do!
Note that Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

Circuit City's prices are now included. Sorry...no Spidey Limited Edition set, apparently. But now I know where I'm getting Mysterious Island... :)

* BE CAREFUL! The Santa Clause - Special Edition, Spider-Man, and Eight-Legged Freaks are all available in both Widescreen and Fullscreen versions...get the correct one.
* How about Spider-Man for $14.87? On the Friday, Nov. 1st release date, K-Mart delivers up a loss leader yet again! Plus, they give you some bonus trading cards to go with it! However, experience shows us that they are only going to stock the Fullscreen version, though :frowning: That's why I'm planning to check Wal-Mart instead. Without announcing their exact price, Wal-Mart is planning to beat K-Mart's price on Spidey by at least a few pennies...and giving away a free comic with it. (Trading cards and comics are while supplies last, of course.) Oh, and Wal-Mart also has Spider-Man: Return of the Green Goblin for just $14.44!
* However, it WILL be safe on Tuesday 10/29 to go to K-Mart for the Widescreen-available-only release of The Sum Of All Fears for a mere $15.99! :D Also there will be Eight-Legged Freaks, but it will be at a more-regular $19.95 price point.
* BUT! Target is the place to go if you want both The Sum Of All Fears AND Eight-Legged Freaks for just $15.99 each! (TSoaF is actually in the ad for "Low Price", but I have it on good authority that the price will be $15.99.) Spider-Man is also "Low Price", and also probably $15.99. In addition, you can save $1 on a Spidey bobblehead doll, and $3 off of a 12-pack of Dr. Pepper.
* Target is also the place to go if you want The Santa Clause - Special Edition for just $14.99! Spider-Man: Return of the Green Goblin is also $14.99. Nick Carter's "Now or Never" CD, with bonus DVD, is $11.88.
* All copies of The Santa Clause - Special Edition ought to come with a free ticket to to sequel, The Santa Claus 2, which is in theaters this Friday. Also, owners of the previous editions can get a $5 rebate for upgrading to the SE.
* Best Buy will take $2 off the price of Spider-Man if you also get the CD soundtrack at the same time. Speaking of CD's, the Tori Amos CD "Scarlet's Walk" is available in a limited edition that comes with a DVD; that goes for $16.99.
* Both Circuit City and Best Buy will take $3 off the price of Spider-Man: Return of the Green Goblin if you get Spider-Man: The Ultimate Villian Showdown at the same time.
* CompUSA says that they will have "The Lowest Price...Period" on Spider-Man this coming Friday. They have a long way to go to beat everyone else's deals...and their record, like K-Mart's, indicates a FullScreen tendancy. And low quantities to boot. I'll give it a skip, but if anyone finds out the exact price point, please post it here! The Sum of All Fears will also be there, but for $17.99.
* Borders: Gee, I meant to put this in last week's Roundup and just must have plum forgotten! Here is a coupon for them to celebrate their new Atlanta-area store. Like the previous two "new store" coupons, it ought to be good anywhere. Like the others, it is 20% off of everything except DVDs...the DVD discount limit is 15% off. Deadline for the coupon is Nov. 8th...Go nuts!

I'll probably just go to Best Buy for Spider-Man since I KNOW they will have widescreen. I can't count on Kmart or Wallmart for that.

Dave, do you mean I have to get both "Sum of All Fears" AND "Eight Legged Freaks" at Target to get the $15.99 price? I definately want "Eight Legged Freaks" but I can definately do without "Sum." Oh well, they'll probably stock fullscreen anyway. I guess I'll have to try and pricematch.

This will be the first Tuesday in like, ever, that I won't be buying anything.

But I will be picking up Spider-Man on Friday, sight unseen.

As I've already mentioned in a couple of these, both K-Mart and Wal-Mart are about 30-45 minutes away from where I live. So Best Buy it is for Spidey.:)

No, did I word it that badly? Get either one or the other. Each is on sale for $15.99. Widescreen versions are mentioned in Target's ad, so don't worry about that.
I just came from someplace that had Malcolm out, and another place that had Santa Clause SE out. Neither was at the best price, so I just left 'em on the shelf. :)
Still no joy from CC's website; so hang tight on that. :frowning:

I guess I am lucky that the Kmart down the street from me has both Full and Widescreen. My experience in buying Mr. Deeds was that at the top of the display, in the first two shelves, they had Full Screen, and the bottom two shelves were the Widescreens.

Thankfully my Kmart has em both!

Thanks for the roundup!

Since Spiderman is released Friday instead of Tuesday, how long will the sale prices last? Will I miss out on $14.99 if I am not standing in line at BB on Friday? I am asking because I am going to be out of town Friday and Saturday and want to know if I have to talk my wife into going out Friday to make the purchase.

David, why not just get it at bestbuy.com? Free shipping and same tax as if you buy it from the store? It's listed at $16.99 but you should get the $2 credited back after Friday.

I saw MitM and SC at Wally World last night. Picked up MitM as the wife and I have been waiting for this one, and I can price comp it with the receipt. Held off on SC, not sure if I was going to upgrade, but the $14.99 price and $5 rebate, plus the movie ticket make it a no-brainer, I'll grab it Tuesday when I go to get Left Behind 2:Tribulation Force.

Dave, is there any hope that Wal-mart or Target will carry the Spiderman gift set in stores? If not, I'll have to go to BB or CC, whoever has the best price.

No earthly idea; sorry. But I doubt it. I think BB will be your best bet, honestly. But let's see what CC's price is when the site comes up.

True. Then again, I would pay anything for the set. My 5 year old has gone Spider crazy since first seeing the trailer last year, and Friday may be bigger than Christmas to him :D

Yah, I'd already saw that it was back up, and was pulling the prices. They're up. No Spidey LE, sorry.

I've also edited a few minor things here and there; so glance over the entire Roundup, okay?

My local Target had the first season of "Mad About You" for $16.99. I bought it there on Saturday although the official release date is 10/29.
