For those interested, Warner Archive made an announcement on their Facebook page about an "Americana" sale at Amazon for selected WAC titles. Most are less than half-price. Sale ends July 31st.

Thanks for the heads up. Some great titles that have been on my wish list and very reasonable pricing plus free shipping with Amazon Prime. I wonder if WAC is going to have an equivalent or even better sale on their site for the 4th holiday weekend. Agreed with Matt above on The Bowery Boys, however, those collections are probably selling too well at full retail to be included in the sale. Most of the titles included appear to be deep "catalogue" items that have been in release for three or four years now.

MIRACLE OF MORGAN’S CREEK (1944) Preston Sturges’ post-Production Code screwball satire is nothing less than one of the greatest film comedies throughout the known cosmos. Warm, wise and sly, this all-out assault on the strictures of the censors springboards from a young maiden’s blackout into the scandalous realm of dubious marriages, unmiraculous pregnancies and miracle births — all leavened with load of mirth. Betty Hutton and Eddie Bracken share center-stage while Sturges mainstay William Demarest ably anchors the show while aided by an astonishing assist from child prodigy Diana Lynn. ANYTHING GOES (1956) Bing Crosby returns to semi-familiar territory for his final film as a Paramount player after an amazing 23 year-run for this new take on some old hits. This version of Anything Goes jettisons the original’s storyline while maintaining its signature show tunes and showbiz subject matter. Bing is paired up with a red-hot Donald O’Connor while Mitzi Gaynor and Jeanmaire provide the distaff distraction in this tale of two agents who sign two different women up for the same role. Additional songs from Jimmy Van Heusen and Sammy Cahn share the score with the Porter originals. BROTHER SUN, SISTER MOON (1972) Franco Zeffirelli, fresh from the cross-over success of Romeo and Juliet, tackles the transcendent and true tale of Francis of Assisi’s journey from soldier to saint. Lensed through a decidedly post-Sixties prism, the flower power and Donovan score fade away for a truly inspirational third act confrontation between Francis (Graham Faulkner) and Pope Innocent III (Alec Guinness). JONATHAN LIVINGSTON SEAGULL (1973) Richard Bach’s runaway inspirational bestseller about a bird’s spiritual journey to “perfect speed” and grace gets a live-action adaptation courtesy of journeyman filmmaker Hall Bartlett (Zero Hour). Combining voice-over work from a stellar vocal cast headed by James Franciscus with truly stunning aerial photography from cinematographer Jack Couffer, this seagull fable is as unconventional as its source material. Music by Neil Diamond. LIFEGUARD (1976) A pre-iconic Sam Elliott, mustache and all, toplines as the titular lifeguard in this existential coming-of-identity tale. As his 15th High School reunion beckons lifeguard Rick Carlson, he starts to question his choice of shore duty over “adult” success. Although the milieu and the tropes indicate the coming of the modern surf, sand, and sex movies (as well as a certain mammoth syndicated TV hit twenty years later) the film is pure Seventies cinematic introspection. Elliott’s ease and gravitas are more than already apparent as he almost singlehandedly carries the movie, and it’s clear that his sun was still rising higher. Parker Stevenson plays the young tyro lifeguard learning the ropes, while Anne Archer and Kathleen Quinlan are the sirens calling to Rick from the two sides of his life.

This is the second week in a row where the "new" titles are regurgitated Paramount product and the pre-orders have more of the same. When will we see more never on DVD titles?

Wasn't Medical Center Season 3 a new title just last week? Or was that a re-release too?

As someone said this week is one usually WA takes off anyway. The fact they got the Paramount titles to fill in a bit where they aren't having as many releases is something to be happy about.

I definitely applaud Warner for taking some concern with the quality of their releases. Too bad that evidently the trade off is that new releases will now be coming at a snail's pace.

Someone must know some fast snails. I'm just not seeing how this correlates to any reason to be jumping at brash conclusions. We've known some kind of paramount deal was coming. They've put a bunch out in two weeks, and again folks one of those weeks is one WA takes off all the time.

I know greed and desire sometimes clouds the mind but come on. The Archive has taken off some weeks in the past and we all lived. The program's paramount deal is getting most of the releases this and the last week but they still put out one release of their own and took a week off that no one should be surprised by. To play off a film because of where we are, i can't help but feel people are turning a barracuda into a shark.

Medical Center Season 3 was new, yes.

As others noted, holiday weeks either have no releases or are limited to re-releases. Also, I've noticed there is generally some downtime around the Summer release schedules.

They improved the quality with many titles now being remastered a year ago and it hasn't slowed the release schedule yet. If anything it has increased they have released many more TV shows per month the last year then they did before. They have never released new titles during a holiday week since they began in 2009.

THE ANDY HARDY FILM COLLECTION VOLUME 2 (1937-58) Welcome back to Carvel! In this concluding volume of the complete series collection you’ll get a chance to experience Andy’s journey from start to finish. First witness Andy’s rise from relatively humble beginnings in A Family Affair to become’s America’s original favorite teenager. Then watch his madcap college coming-of-age in Andy Hardy’s Double Life, his return from service in Love Laughs at Andy Hardy and finally his rarely-seen return to Carvel as a grown man in Andy Hardy Comes Home. It’s Hardy time — whoo-hoo! Newly Remastered Collection contains: A FAMILY AFFAIR (1937) This stand-alone film reunited much of the cast of 1935’s Ah! Wilderness under the deft direction of George B. Seitz and proved such a smash MGM quickly commissioned a series. Judge James K. Hardy (Lionel Barrymore) faces town backlash and scandal when he blocks a large public works project. With Cecilia Parker, Mickey Rooney, Spring Byington, and Sara Haden. JUDGE HARDY’S CHILDREN (1938) With You’re Only Young Once (available in Volume One) having established the main cast of Lewis Stone, Fay Holden, Cecilia Parker, Ann Rutherford and Sara Haden (with Betty Ross Clarke filling in as Aunt Milly on occasion) and W.S. Van Dyke directing, the series was off and running. This installment sees the Hardys off to Washington as Judge Hardy chairs an important committee and Andy seeks out a tuxedo. Special guest gals: Ruth Hussey and Jacqueline Laurent! LOVE FINDS ANDY HARDY (1938) Andy’s new tux gets a workout as he gets stuck with multiple dates to the Christmas formal. Good thing a new gal next door is there to help him out. The quintessential Andy Hardy film. Special Guest Gals: Judy Garland and Lana Turner! THE HARDYS RIDE HIGH(1939) Andy Hardy, Millionaire Playboy? That appears to be the case when the Judge is informed of a sizeable inheritance and the clan leaves Carvel for the high life in Detroit. Special Guest Gal: Virginia Grey! ANDY HARDY GETS SPRING FEVER (1939) When Polly starts making moon eyes at a new fella, Andy gets hot and bothered for the new drama teacher. Special Guest Gal: Helen Gilbert! THE COURTSHIP OF ANDY HARDY (1942) Concerned over how a bitter custody battle is affecting a young girl, Judge Hardy prescribes her a little medicine: Andy himself. Special Guest Gal: Donna Reed! ANDY HARDY’S DOUBLE LIFE (1942) Andy’s finally got his life together, so what better time than to get engaged to two different dames? Special Guest Gals: Esther Williams and Susan Peters! ANDY HARDY’S BLONDE TROUBLE (1944) Andy gets stuck between two twins while learning the benefits of a co-educational institution. Special Guest Gals: Bonita Granville and Lee and Lyn Wilde! LOVE LAUGHS AT ANDY HARDY (1946) Willis Goldbeck picks up the reins as the series rounds out with Andy’s return from the service. Special Guest Gals: Bonita Granville, Lina Romay and Dorothy Ford! ANDY HARDY COMES HOME(1958) Twelve years later, Mickey reunites with Fay Holden, Cecilia Parker and Sara Haden for a capper to the series that comes full circle — all the way back to A Family Affair. TIME TRAX: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON (1994) Darien Lambert (Dale Midkiff), Fugitive Retrieval Section Captain, returns for another season of cross-dimensional adventures in time. As Darien and his holographic computer aide SELMA (Elizabeth Alexander) continue their quest for fugitives from 2193, man and AI grow closer even as Lambert has a meeting with the mother that gave him up. Other trials faced by the time-tossed cop include the samurai sword wielding Yakuza, a stolen SELMA, and a street-wise, hoop-shooting priest (Julius Erving) that’s a target for assassination. Time Trax: The Complete Second Season contains the show’s final 22 episodes and includes appearances by cult sci-fi favorites Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Voyager), Vanessa Angel (Weird Science), John Schuck (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country), Ronny Cox (RoboCop), Tamlyn Tomita (The Day After Tomorrow) and more!

Hmmm... 'Attack of the Killer Bs' celebration from Warner Archives at Comic-Con... and THE BEAST WITH FIVE FINGERS, THE FROZEN DEAD and THE HAND are mentioned... perhaps an early hint at their Halloween MOD release slate this year? :3dglasses:

That's how I take it as I've been waiting on The Beast with Five Fingers for about 15 years now.

In the February issue of Fangoria Magazine, George Feltenstein mentioned WICKED WICKED (1973) and THE BEAST WITH FIVE FINGERS as coming releases, so perhaps they'll show up around Halloween from the Archives? I've been asking for THE FROZEND DEAD for years, so it's good news to see them cite that title. Perhaps FROZEN DEAD will be released as well, and Halloween would be a good time for it.I also wish that Warner would release Paul Bartel's PRIVATE PARTS (1972) as a Blu-ray.

Considering the new Andy Hardy set is advertised as "Newly Remastered", I'm curious if that also includes Love Finds Andy Hardy, the only one to get an official DVD release back in the day. Not a big deal if it isn't, but I'm sure there was room for improvement on that one.

Very glad they went for completeness in this one, including Love Finds Andy Hardy and Love Laughs At Andy Hardy. They're finally all out on DVD!

Quite possibly. Last year's Comic Con had Warner Archive release teasers before they became reality later in the year.
