Any word on the next Andy Hardy set? I think the last thing I heard was early part of 2013. Heading into April now and still nothing.

Are the Macdonald/Eddy titles released in March on backorder for everyone else? I ordered them a day after the release date so I'm curious if they ran out very fast or just missed the release date didn't get them in stock yet. The latter situation seems to happen a lot with their non-WBshop exclusive titles lately.

Hooo boy! Samuel Goldwyn films have officially been introduced to the WAC!. I was worried these titles were going to get overlooked after this much time--about 1 year since the deal was announced. These Eddie Cantors have been in high demand since MGM plugged them in an expensive mega-set with no option of

I'd also hazard a guess that the Samuel Goldwyn titles might go OOP in a few years hence if WB allows their Samuel Goldwyn license to expire, so those interested might not want to wait too long.

Bowery Boys Vol. 2 is right on schedule. I wonder which titles made it into this volume (outside of Meets the Monsters)...

Edit: Found the list. Includes: Spook Busters (1946) Hard Boiled Mahoney (1947) Bowery Buckaroos (1947) Smuggler’s Cove (1948) Ghost Chasers (1951) Let’s Go Navy! (1951) Hold That Line (1952) Loose in London (1953) Clipped Wings (1953) Private Eyes (1953) The Bowery Boys Meet the Monsters (1954) High Society (1955)

Also, it looks like the WAC is starting to advertise pressed disc runs in their press releases, with the description "...initial quantities of this release will be traditionally replicated (pressed) in anticipation of high consumer demand!." Needless to say BB Vol 2 will be pressed.

THE BOWERY BOYS COLLECTION, VOLUME TWO (1946-55): Slip, Sach and the rest of the crew are back for another heaping selection of hilarity that delivers up a full decade of Bowery brou-ha-has. Charter the Boys’ course from their crime and Saturday-serial flavored comedy beginnings alongside fellow Dead Enders Bobby Jordan and Gabe Dell to full on Stoogian slapstick insanity, as Horace Debussy Jones, Jr. starts to take center stage. Contains some of the Boys’ most beloved outings including Spook Busters, Private Eyes and perhaps their most famous outing, The Bowery Boys Meet the Monsters. These films have been remastered from the best available 35mm film elements. Initial quantities of this release will be traditionally replicated (pressed) in anticipation of high consumer demand. Includes: Spook Busters (1946) Hard Boiled Mahoney (1947) Bowery Buckaroos (1947) Smuggler’s Cove (1948) Ghost Chasers (1951) Let’s Go Navy! (1951) Hold That Line (1952) Loose in London (1953) Clipped Wings (1953) Private Eyes (1953) The Bowery Boys Meet the Monsters (1954) High Society (1955) CHILDRENS HOSPITAL: THE COMPLETE FOURTH SEASON (2012) Meet the undisputed king of 15-Minute Midnight medical procedurals. This Emmy® winning comedy (short form, because the long-forms were scared) began life as a series of 5 minute webisodics before making the jump to the boob tube. Childrens Hospital not only defies conventions, it defiles them. Scandalous, scabrous, crass and clever, Childrens Hospital’s razor sharp wit is matched only by the quantum-keen comedy of its ’staff’, ably led by co-creator Rob Corddry (Cutter Spindell/Dr. Blake Downs) including Rob Huebel, Malin Akerman, Erinn Hayes, Ken Marino, Megan Mullally, Henry Winkler, Lake Bell and the voice of Michael Cera. Guests spots include Jon Hamm! Nick Offerman! Dominic Monaghan! Frances Fisher! And Brian Huskey as Chet! Childrens Hospital noob? Get in on the ground floor and grab seasons 1–3 at WBshop’s seizure inducing SALE. THE RICKY GERVAIS SHOW, THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON (2012) The Office creators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s popular podcast gets an animated remix to emerge as one of the sprightliest and strange comedies to ever grace the cableways. With the spotlight squarely cast on former Ricky Gervais Show radio producer, the ineffable and improbable Karl Pilkington, this talk/toon mash-up takes us to vistas hitherto only imagined by a ‘round-headed buffoon’. Highlights from the third season include Karl pitching a film about an actor trapped in the body of Tom Cruise (played by Tom Cruise), a day in the life of Karl Pilkington, and Karl ruminating on his personal highlight of the year, observing invertebrates eating his biscuit (cf: cookie) on a window sill.

Eddie Cantor, “the apostle of pep,” was an original king of all media, vaulting from vaudeville to Broadway, Hollywood, the radio airwaves and even TV. These two films, early gems from the illustrious Samuel Goldwyn library, are prime examples of the singing and dancing stage persona that made Eddie Cantor a household word. WHOOPEE (1930) This two-strip Technicolor musical comedy, adapted from Cantor’s smash Broadway show, delivered hit songs like “Makin’ Whoopee” and “My Baby Just Cares for Me” along with the dance number debut of a young choreographer by the name of Busby Berkeley — whose signature powers are on full display. Cantor plays a neuroses-laden hypochondriac (decades before Woodrow Allen) who becomes an accidental matchmaker when he offers a ride to a runaway bride way out West. Cantor becomes an unwilling Mercutio between the bride’s warring suitors — Sheriff Bob Wells and local tribesman Wanenis. KID MILLIONS (1934) Cantor depicts a simple Brooklyn boy who finds himself on a collision course with charlatans, connivers, sheiks, and she-devils on the way to inherit a fortune in Egypt. Ann Sothern, Ethel Merman, George Murphy, Paul Harvey and Edgar Kennedy all lend their talents to the to-do, which climaxes with a truly sweet three-strip Technicolor dream of a finish.

STONED BROS. (2009) Australia‘s answer to Harold and Kumar, Stoned Bros. is a pot-fueled road-trip that gives Cheech and Chong a run for their stash. Sick of the city life and their dead-end jobs, Charlie and his up-tight cousin Eddie decide it’s time to reconnect with their homegrown roots. Taking off in a beat-up Ford they spark it up on a spiritual journey across the Australian Outback to find and return a sacred stone, which Charlie lost in a blaze of confusion. To succeed they will have to survive encounters with a demonically possessed dog, a depressed drag queen, a jilted ex-lover, a soul-searching cop, and a deadly spider that’s come along for the ride. When the smoke finally clears, you’ve had a blast!

Quote from the 4/9 Press Release: "These films have been remastered from the best available 35mm film elements. Initial quantities of this release will be traditionally replicated (pressed) in anticipation of high consumer demand."

Wow! After all that grumbling about people even asking if a release was pressed or burned, and after obtaining the deletion of the HTF Warner Archive pressed vs. burned thread, WA actually comes out and finally states in the official press release that a title is going to be pressed and not burned. Cheers for their increased communication!

I watched the exclusive MU release of Lubitsch's The Merry Widow, and can happily say that the video and audio quality is outstanding. It's amazing that it took this long to get released, but the wait was certainly worth it to see it look this good.

still hoping for the naked and the dead.
About a month ago someone asked about this title on their facebook page and their reply was that they haven't started work on it yet. So it sounds like they plan to release it eventually but it needs some work so it may be a little while yet.

Angel Baby (1961) In his film debut, Burt Reynolds vies with George Hamilton for the love of one heavenly woman. In the American South, evangelist Paul Strand (Hamilton) meets a beautiful, young mute named Jenny, affectionately known as Angel Baby. When Paul prays for her, Jenny’s voice miraculously returns…and the two fall in love, sparking jealousy in Paul’s older wife and Jenny’s predatory lover (Reynolds). Cleopatra Jones (1973) & Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold (1975) Tamara Dobson opens up a can of Karate Kitten whup-ass, waging a one-woman war against the drug trade, at home and abroad. The first flick finds Cleo taking on local smack queenpin Mommy (Shelley Winters), while the follow-up sees Ms. Jones taking on a druggie Dragon Lady (Stella Stevens) in Macao. Best of 77 Sunset Strip (1959-1964) Seldom seen since its hit run on network TV, this stylish and snappy private detective show is as infectious as its super-cool opening theme. Ex-agents turned gumshoes Stuart Bailey (Efrem Zimbalist, Jr.) and Jeff Spencer (Roger Smith) travel the globe to solve murders, foil drug rings and aid an endless parade of the most beautiful women with the help of their jive-talking buddy, Kookie (Edward Byrnes). A Caribbean Mystery (1983) First lady of the 20th Century stage Helen Hayes takes a turn as the meddling mystery-solving spinster Miss Marple in this adaptation of the beloved Agatha Christie classic. Major Palgrave, an idiosyncratic but charming mystery writer, reveals to Miss Marple that one of the guests at a luxurious Caribbean resort they’re staying at is a murderer. But the Major is killed before revealing the killer’s identity, and it's up to Miss Marple to uncover it since more murders are apt to follow. The Invisible Boy (1957) Forbidden Planet’s Robby the Robot time travels from the 23rd century to the 20th in order to team up with a cybernetically precocious ten-year-old in this oft’ neglected but thoroughly charming SF-Boy’s Adventure-cum-Cold War paranoia piece. When superscience whiz Dr. Tom Merrinoe (Philip Abbott) mysteriously supercharges 10 year-old Timmie’s IQ with his sentient supercomputer, the kid repairs the time-tossed robot and embarks on a series of adventures before the film takes a sudden dark turn… Our Dancing Daughters (1928) Powered by a zillion watts of sexual energy, Joan Crawford strips to her teddy and tears into a Charleston, quickly becoming the very icon of Jazz Age “Flaming Youth.” Crawford became a star in this milestone silent about a good girl who hides her heart behind a party-girl mask and loses the man she loves to a gold digger.

36 Hours (1965) James Garner stars as an American Army Intelligence officer who awakens in 1950 with acute amnesia. The last thing Pike can remember is D-Day preparations in 1940. With his beautiful wife Anna (Eva Marie Saint) by his side, he tries to recover his memories. But things are not always what they seem, as Anna may not be his wife and it might not even be 1950… The Deadly Trap (1972) Rene Clement directs this neo-Hitchcockian thriller that sees a loving wife discover the true nature of her husband’s profession after their children are abducted. With Frank Langella and Faye Dunaway. Horror Of Dracula (1958) In this scarlet and ebon tinged full color adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Christopher Lee begins his iconic run as the Prince of Darkness alongside fellow Hammer-mate Peter Cushing, fresh from their pairing in the film that helped launch the Hammer horror craze, The Curse of Frankenstein. Midnight Mary (1933) William Wellman directs Loretta Young in this gangster melodrama that unflinchingly reveals what makes a good girl go bad. The Ultimate Warrior (1975) Forget about Mad Max — this Sci Fi actioner has Yul Brynner facing down cannibal savages in post-apocalypse NYC alongside Max von Sydow. From the director of Enter the Dragon. Wild Boys Of The Road (1933) Earnest, socially conscious road drama directed by William Wellman centers on two California teenagers who find their comfortable lives thrown into turmoil during the Great Depression.
