Here is some more interesting Walmart related information. Several large electronics retailers, Circuit City among them, are closing stores and laying off employees as a direct result of Walmart offering a 42 inch flat panel HDTV for under $1000 last Christmas.

Since Walmart selling cheap Chinese HD-DVD players was the final nail in the coffin for HD-DVD, this is terrible news for Blu-ray.

It looks to me like Walmart was asking them to provide information on the possibility of supplying in excess of 2 million units.


So Walmart is at least interested in the possibility, but they haven't placed an order....yet.
