Velvet Drapery along walls..... good idea? (1 Viewer)

I am still trying to decide whether I should paint my walls and add some sound panels for sound absorption

or

Put Velvet drapery along all the interior walls. I think that might do some sound absorption and deflection and be more astetically pleasing....

Anyone else do this????

U could go velvet curtains OVER sound panels for a really acoustically "dead" HT.

I did it... Burgandy on the screen wall, dark purple everywhere else.

the problem with draping the velvet over the walls directly is that you will be killing your High frequencies, but doing nothing for your mids and lows. you will then need to use bass traps or other types of obsorption to try to flatten the rooms response, because it will most likely be too severe to fix with EQ.
