Has anyone ever tried the technique described in the tutorial above? Also can anyone explain what the advantage is to "braiding" the cables? I've read many post on the TNT forum praising this technique and quoting drastic improvments after doing it.

Braiding the wires simply keeps the wires neater. I've been wanting to try this for some time.

I want to make some, but there is none of the required teflon cable in Australia. I am trying to find an online dealer who will ship international...RS does not..it uses the Belden 1585A teflon coated CAT5 cable.
Jon Risch has another who some say is superior (there are just as many who say the CAT5 is better). It is easier to build, as there is no braiding involves.

Mouser Electronics sells Belden.. for the 89259.. 100' rolls only..
