    UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOME ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES

    UNRATED AND FULLY EXTENDED

THE VERSION YOU COULDN'T SEE IN THEATERS
PLUS EXCLUSIVE BONUS FEATURES UNLEASHING MORE UNBRIDLED HORROR ON DVD AND VHS JUNE 7, 2005

Universal City, California, May 10, 2005 - Freddy. Jason. Leatherface. Pinhead. Michael Myers. The Crypt Keeper. When one conjures modern classic horror, such iconic characters immediately top splatter fans' lists. Now Universal Studios Home Entertainment unleashes its most popular and revered horror character of the past 25 years in his fifth movie outing - Chucky, every horror fan's favorite notorious killer doll. Spawned by the immensely successful 1988 film, Child's Play, the $200 million franchise is back and bloodier than ever in Seed of Chucky Unrated and Fully Extended, coming to DVD on June 7, 2005. Even more scary and gory than the R-rated theatrical release, Seed of Chucky Unrated and Fully Extended offers viewers an extra slice of murderous fun that Fangoria Magazine's Michael Gingold called "a wicked good time." When Chucky takes a stab at fatherhood, mayhem ensues like never before in a Chucky film. Also available in the R-rated version, the DVD and VHS are priced at $29.98 SRP.

Seed of Chucky is directed with blood-curdling delight by Don Mancini (creator of the Chucky series and screenwriter on all five movies), stars Jennifer Tilly (Liar, Liar, Bride of Chucky), hip-hop sensation Redman (How High), pop star Hannah Spearritt (of S Club 7 fame), and cult director/actor John Waters (Cecil B. DeMented, Serial Mom), plus the voice talents of Billy Boyd (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and the original Chucky, Brad Dourif.

    BONUS FEATURES
The Seed of Chucky DVD is filled with never-before-seen bonus features destined to satisfy any bloodthirsty fan's curiosity:

Family Hell-iday Slide Show - Chucky, Tiffany, and Glen(da) host the first viewing of their exploits and axe-wounds through Paris, New York, and Hollywood, proving that the family that slays together, stays together.

Tilly on "The Tonight Show" - Jennifer Tilly fills in "The Tonight Show's" Jay Leno about the blood, sweat, and tears that go into working with Chucky and Redman. Especially the blood.

Conceiving the Seed of Chucky - A three-part documentary looks into the legacy of Chucky through nearly two decades, five films, hundreds of gallons of blood, numerous puppeteers and countless victims.

FuZion Up Close with the Seed of Chucky stars - The cameras of mun2 go behind-the-scenes for revealing interviews with Chucky and Tiffany, who speak publicly about their lives as a Hollywood couple.

Audio Commentary with Writer/Director Don Mancini and Jennifer Tilly

Plus, the Seed of Chucky Unrated and Fully Extended edition also includes the following material that's just too extreme to be shown in theaters:

Slashed Scene - With audio commentary by Don Mancini and Debbie Carrington.

Heeeere's Chucky - Chucky sits down for an interview with Jim Moret.

    Chucky's Insider Facts On Demand

    Storyboard To Final Feature Comparison

Audio Commentary with Writer/Director Don Mancini and Head Puppeteer Tony Gardner

so, they decided to release this as unrated, and not pursue the NC-17 rating that was originally rumored.

I don't know if Unrated can help this movie.

I viewed this at the theater and it was absolutely horrible. One of the worst movies I have seen in awhile. Not in the good way either.

The Press Release sounds mre interesting.

I am getting sick and tired of studios making big deals about "ALL NEW SUPER DUPER MEGA AWESOME EXTENDED UNRATED CUT" and they add 1-2 minutes to the movie.

What ever happened to the true extended cuts of movies like Dances with Wolves, Terminator 2, Apocalypse Now, Brazil?!?!

These lame attempts at putting out an Unrated DVD are nothing more than a plan formulated by studio ad executives to sell more DVDs.

The movie was terrible, either as camp or horror. A real disappointment after the hilarious Bride of Chucky.
