Wow. Quite a thread. I've laughed and cried.

Have any of you ever used www.planetfeedback.com/consumer ?

I would recommend checking it out. I recently sent positive feedback to Toys R Us regarding an issue that they took care of for me. I hope the kudos gets passed on to the people at the store who helped me.

Granted, I haven't checked web sites or atlases, but I'm pretty sure there is not Israel, MA.

Surprisingly, you're right. I would have expected to find an Israel, MA, and probably several others in New Enlgand. The original puritan settlers identified more with the Old Testament than the New, in many ways, and saw New England as the new promised land and themselves as the new chosen people. Their fondness for taking the names of the prophets as first names and using biblical placenames reflects this.

However the only municipality called "Israel" that I could find in the U.S. is Israel Township, OH.
