TV cable hook up to projector (1 Viewer)

I'm assuming you have a cable box.
Your cable goes to the box, the connection from the cable box can be s-video, component, or DVI. You can connect one of these to your projector and use the box to change channels.
If you don't have a cable box, get one that is digital. I would want a box that had at least component outputs to connect to the projector.

To add to that, if you don't have a cable box, than yes you will need hook up through a vcr and have composite out to pj.

If no cable box, try to score an SVHS vcr. The svideo capability does seem to help quite a bit with SD, standard cable, even tapes if your so inclined.

Just hooking it up to a VCR through the Composite output of the VCR is a waist of time.
The VCR won't deinterlace or scale the picture. The picture will be washed.
A digital cable box or a TV capture card through your PC will give a better result. Capture cards cost $80.00 CDN.
