OK I'm on a bit of a renewed Jennifer Jones kick at the moment. TT did a stellar job with "Love is a Many-Splendored Thing" and I'm not terribly enthused by the current home video incarnations of "Tender is the Night" (the Fox Archive MOD is not 16:9 and nor was the Spanish DVD import), so this is the title I'm most campaigning for.

Plus with all the renewed "Great Gatsby" craze going on I think it would do well on Blu-ray for Fox.

Tender is the Night would make a great companion piece to TT's Beloved Infidel too classicmovieguy.

The biggest hook for me with this title has always been Bernard Herrmann's plaintive score. To have this movie OAR with its score isolated would be wonderful, which is why I would prefer a TT edition over a home label release. Of course, if it's already in the Fox mod DVD bin then that doesn't make the latter very likely. But you never know...I didn't expect Fox to bother going out with Wild River as a standalone, so there you go...

Tender Is the Night (1962) is a wonderful film, photographed by Leon Shamroy, directed by Henry King, and scored by Bernard Herrmann. What a perfect choice for Twilight Time.

I'm not a Jennifer Jones fan and never will be but I'd love a BRD of Tender Is The Night. In the long ago days when I used to frequent re-run theaters, catching up on old movies, Tender Is The Night was very hard to find. I've only seen it on television and that too was long ago.

The title song by Sammy Fain has since become a kind of "semi-standard", recorded by people like Tony Bennett, Vic Damone and Henry Mancini.

Agree, Keith. I've never seen "Good Morning Miss Dove" but the selected clips I've seen are very good. Also recently re-watched her remake of "Farewell to Arms" and really enjoyed it, although I do feel it's quite over-long.

Tender Is the Night would be great to have, but so would Good Morning, Miss Dove.
Both of these films have been run on Turner Classic Movies in the past few years, but TENDER IS THE NIGHT was pan-and-scan, while GOOD MORNING, MISS DOVE was widescreen.

What about The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit, another good performance by Jennifer Jones (and everyone else).
Twilight Time does not have any plans to release The Man in the Grey Flannel Suit as of this past May. Personally, I'm happy that they don't have the plans since I feel Fox should release it to the masses. The theme of work vs. family is still relevant today and Gregory Peck, Jennifer Jones, and Fredric March all give astounding performances. That would be a real winner for the Studio Classics series, which has not been releasing very many 'Scope era titles. Also as of this past May, Good Morning Miss Dove was deemed unfit for a Twilight Time release. Nick Redman himself said "expect to see it as a mod". Regarding Tender is the Night, I would expect a TT release if anything further at all. Fox I don't think has much interest in this title.

I have to say, her remake of Farewell to Arms is her worst performance and is actually on my most hated films list.

There was also a very good stereo soundtrack on the original release, which does some justice to the Bernard Herrmann score.
