I have a Yamaha rx-v473 that I just hooked up and I only get the background music and not the voices through the dvr, xbox or blue ray player please help me before the wife makes me take everything apart again! the speakers are some older klh l853b's and a couple year old sony sub Thank You

Everything is connected with hdmi on the xbox playing a movie I switched to dolby french and get voices in french

Have you set up... 1. The DVR for Dolby Digital? 2. The XBox for Dolby Digital? (does it have DTS?) 3. BD player for bitstream? secondary audio off? DRC for "wide"? Stereo sources as "auto"? Downmix "off"? In other words...if none of your sources sounds right, did you do any set-up?

It sounds like the receiver is trying to output to a center channel when there is none. I would look for a setup on the Yamaha and make sure the center is off.
