Hmmm... for a 35-page thread that is a tribute to blondes there are entirely too few pictures of Naomi Watts!

She is well past her prime

Well since I am nearing 50 myself the only prime I am concerned with is Amazon.

However, we can all appreciate the past, thus here's some promo shots circa 2004 for I ♥ Huckabees.

Someone also needs to get a hi-res screencap of this shot from Mullholland Drive of Watts as an homage to the classic Hitchcock blonde heroine since this is the best that can be found on the Internets.

She's come a long way from "The Shook-Up Shopping Cart".

She certainly has!

Although in that above shot she could easily be mistaken for Amy Adams.

Two '50s blondes who deserve to be remembered are Mamie Van Doren and Lori Nelson. They were both at Universal who gave them little chance to do anything worthwhile but nevertheless they managed to survive. They made one film together, Untamed Youth, an early "young women exploited in prison" movie.

I repeat: they deserve to be remembered.

Just thought I'd mention that the great podcast "You Must Remember This", has wrapped up a great series on "Dead Blondes", Hollywood blondes who came to tragic ends. This includes the "usual suspects" such as Monroe and Harlow, but also includes some relatively forgotten ones such as Barbara Loden and Barbara Payton. Each episode is about 50 minutes long, is meticulously researched and contains fascinating anecdotes.

You can listen (free, of course) here:

Grapefruit Moon Gallery, an Ebay seller specialising in photos of film stars and nude models, has this picture of a young Stella Stevens on offer. I've removed a lot of dirt, and the result is a good reminder of how attractive and sexy Stella Stevens was when she first arrived in Hollywood.
