The edition of Top of the Pops being shown on BBC Four next Thursday is from 27th March, 1980 (presented by David Jensen). Once BBC Four have shown up to the end of May 1980, the next edition of Top of the Pops they should be showing is from 7th August, 1980 (no editions were shown at all during June and July 1980). Am guessing that one of the changes made to the show later in 1980, how the music singles charts were shown on the show (split into three parts during the show, and not shown in one go at the beginning of each regular edition), started with the 7th August, 1980 edition.

The 15th May, 1980 edition (when I think Johnny Logan knocked Dexy's Midnight Runners off the top spot) of Top of the Pops can't be shown by BBC Four, so the next edition being shown will be from 22nd May, 1980 (being shown this coming Thursday). Then a week on Thursday the 29th May, 1980 edition will be shown.
