We're a long way away from this one, which should come out in November or December for Academy Award contention, but the trailer that is out is fantastic.

Based on the true story & book of the same name, if this film is as zany, evil and enjoyable as the book it should be a heck of a ride.

Just saw this trailer. MC looks freaking funny with that hairdo! It does look good. Both me and the wife want to see it. Of course I have a feeling it is because MC is in it which is why she want's to see it.

Rhett...I have to ask...when you refer to "MC" who do you mean? I looked at the credits and I dont see anyone with those initials.

Confused.

Matthew looked odd because he had just filmed or was about to film the movie where he is suffering from aids and he had to lose a ton of weight. He looked sickly in the movie.

Just realized the hot blonde is the same actress from "Pan Am" (TV show). Mmm...

It's weird seeing Leo in a contemporary setting in a film.

Now that's a candid admission ;)
I'm afraid that if I go to see it my blood pressure will go through the roof. I watched the trailer and it was starting to make me mad. It still looks like it could be good though. I honestly cannot bring myself to add dollars to the bank account of an ex-fraudster and and ex-thief, no matter how good the film is. The justice system is broken when a thief wearing a three piece suit can steal 200,000,000 dollars and get the same kind of time some people would get for stealing a loaf of bread. I also thought it was interesting that the only people he had to pay reparations to were stockbrokers. It looks like the investors he defrauded got nothing. How many people did he financially ruin? He now runs around as a motivational speaker?! Who the hell could take anything an ex-con artist has to say seriously?

22 months in jail? He should have been duck taped to an office chair and gotten the same treatment as that book critic in Cloud Atlas. It's tiresome seeing thieves getting away with financial murder because they happen to wear three piece suits and rob with you with a pen, instead of zoot suits, fedoras and gats.

Edit: I should qualify this and say that he apparently got reduced time for "cooperating" with authorities, but still........22 months? You've got to be kidding me.

Lets just hope that they don't go the "Let's split into two movies" route. :) I know a 3 hour running time must be pretty scary to Paramount (long run time means less number of screenings on a movie that must be pretty expensive) but I wish they'd take a chance on the artist and release it at what Scorsese feels is right.

I'm also guessing that an NC-17 would be related to sex. I can't imagine that Scorsese is shooting a porno so it's probably a matter of making a few cuts here and there to get an R. Hopefully, it'll be restored on video.
