Just pick your favorite in each bracket.

Abstain means you can't vote because you haven't seen one or both of the films. "No xxx" just indicates the one you haven't seen, you don't have to do that, but some people like to.

Ted, you to have seen both movies in each bracket in order to vote in that bracket.

Ikiru
abstain - no Nausicaä, have the DVD of Laputa but haven't watched it yet
abstain - no Drifter
abstain - no Fear

What Bill said. We're on the honor system here. Unless the tourney runner states otherwise, it's expected that you will abstain from a matchup if you haven't seen both films.

Ted

The way this works is that you vote for the better/or favorite of the two films facing each other in a bracket.

If you haven't seen both films or you've seen one but not the other you should abstain.

The reason people name the films they haven't seen when they abstain is that during the first round I'll be tossing out films that few voters have seen. This is optional of course but it helps me determine what the really obscure films are.

Enter the Dragon

To Live (tough match-up; Ikiru great as well; Criterion in 2004, right?)

Throne of Blood (but I love Ashes of Time)

Wish I could have gotten one of the autos to get A Scene At The Sea in, but I guess I'd probably be the only one voting on it.

Enter The Dragon (OUATIC is good but no contest here)
Ikiru (To Live is outstanding, but Ikiru is one of my favorite films)
abstain (Like Laputa very much but no Nausicaa)
A Better Tomorrow (very tough, big fan of both)
abstain (neither)
abstain (I've only seen the first 3-5 min of Ashes of Time. The DVD is so awful I just couldn't keep watching it. WORST DVD EVER)

Bill, I had a free pass to The Singing Detective but since I've heard absolutely nothing about it even though its coming out this weekend, I was afraid its a stinker the studio is just sneaking out and I didn't want to waste my rare night out on a bad movie, so we used the pass and then snuck into Kill Bill instead. Plus I REALLY wanted to see Kill Bill again and also wanted Shelley to see it. And I'll probably wait for the mega-set DVD rather than the vol. 1 edition, so it might be awhile before I get to see it again.

Brook, I'm very much looking forward to The Singing Detective as I LOVE the BBC mini-series (got the DVD, the CD & the published script), I just hope that it does Potter's material justice.

The film seems to be on a very limited release...which means that it won't be playing anywhere near this hell-hole.
