Because I want to watch it so bad I just couldn't wait for Christmas I have to buy it tomorrow.

Bryan, to paraphrase an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force

"Its a gift from me, to me, for being such a good boy this year."

Oh, and I agree I also like where this is headed...perhaps they'll follow the pattern that seems to have taken hold with M*A*S*H with a release in June and one in December?

I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Was able to snag this set a day early. Lovitz and Azaria are on the first commentary track! Plus I watched one of the animatic commentaries, which are hilariously silly.

And I gotta say the red case is quite slick-looking.

This is one of my very favorite Simpsons seasons. Thanks, Fox!

Picked up my copy today during my lunch break & the case is really cool. I cannot wait to watch it tonight, or at least a few of the discs hopefully.

ok, I was watching Marge on the Lamb, and I'm fairly confident this is a syndicated version of the episode.
When Wiggum goes to start chasing Marge and Ruth, I could swear he heard chase music before 'Sunshine Lollipops', and this is not the case on the DVD.

Anyone else find anything like this? Or am I crazy?

One cool thing about the discs is that you can turn off the deleted scenes which basically makes it the syndicated version. I noticed that when I watched Homer Goes to College twice with the scenes on & with the scenes off & the second time around was indentical to the syndicated version.

I'm curious what season they did the Bond spoofing. One show in the 7th or 8th season(?) had Homer working at a typical Bond liar and the bad guy was Scorpian, I believe. But I thought there was another Bond spoof earlier, like the 5th or 6th season? Any insights appreciated. I did try to look at TV Tome.com.

The casino episode in this 5th season is a great one too.

That episode is called You Only Move Twice which is on Season 8 & what is pretty cool is that episode debuted on my birthday November 3rd. That is a good episode. There was also a deleted scene that appeared on The Simpson's 138th Show Spectacular for the episode $pringfield (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Legalized Gambling). I hope this helps Nelson.

Sounds like a scene from season 7's episode "Mother Simpson". In this scene, Burns is sitting in a tank ready to fire, and puts on a tape of "Ride of the Valkyries"... only to have it turn into "Waterloo" by ABBA because Smithers recorded over it.

Don,
I thought the deleted scenes were just that, scenes deleted from the final cut of the episode. So is it just the scenes restored from the syndicated version?

I remember that one, but I'm pretty sure this is different.

I distinctly remember Wiggum saying "Hey, who put this chase music in here?" Then flipped it over to Sunshine Lolipops

Homer Goes to College may not have had any cuts in Syndication in the first place. Not every episode does. Sometimes in Syndication they can shave off what they need through time compression. So yes, the deleted scenes should be scenes that were cut from the original broadcast version that never made it to air.

www.snpp.com should have a breakdown of Syndication cuts and which episodes had them somewhere. I have seen it before, but I could not find it when I last checked.

I think so Anthony, I know I remember having the original broadcast of Homer Goes To College recorded on tape & it had that scene where Homer removed the 6 bricks from the construction site to make his shelf & then they showed the construction site would not build the children's hospital because if it. That scene was removed from the syndicated episode. I will try to notice more scenes, but I only got to watch the first disc last night but I will watch the second tonight & hopefully the rest this weekend.
