 There you go, I'm a movie fraud. Maybe this is the time to finally see it, in HD-DVD. :)

As long as you've seen It's a Wonderful Life, that's okay Tim. :)

first occassion I had to see it was when it was released on LD. It quickly became a new favorite and was one of the first titles I picked up on DVD (on my first CH DVD account). It sufficed until I got a front projector and saw insubstantial it really was. The wait for it to get a remaster has been long, and the wait for the HD DVD after the SE streeted in June was almost as grueling.

One of the things that spurred me to purchase it all those years ago, was the unanimous praise from various reviewers on how stunning the pic quality on the LD was compared to the panned and scanned, washed out images that had been seen on VHS up till that time- and I have to say, the disc was a beauty

...on the 25" Quasar console tv we had :D

Also, the fact that it was finally able to be seen in its OAR was a cause of celebration for film buffs and fans, and that added to the excitement around its release. All that enthusiasm for the release, and the praise for the film in general told me it was probably a pretty good bet as a blind buy, and it certainly was.
