I just watched the Kino DVD again this evening and it made me wonder if there was anything happening with this title. Has anyone mentioned restoring it?
Someone told me that the Library of Congress has a pristine 35mm print. Any plans to release a DVD or Blu-Ray using that print?

Now it is April 19, 2013......and like you, hope that a new pristine dvd or bluray will come soon.Suggest we contact the folks at Criterion and request it... Not sure Universal Home Video would care.....sadly.

Not much to add, but want to keep this thread alive. I would love to see Criterion tackle this, and also Show Boat, which received a bare bones release via Warner Archive.

This is now a Cohen property, so hopefully they get around to a restoration.

More James Whale in BD, please. Or MOD, anything, as long as we get to see all of his films (even the weaker ones), as I have. He is a forgotten master, except for Frankenstein, his Bride, and Show Boat.
