sorry to nitpick, but I believe it's 4 books? Many Coloured Land, Golden Torc, Unborn King and The Adversary?

much as I would like to see this made too, I can't see it happening. explaining the different mental powers available is exposition that whilst necessary to understand what's going on, just can't be done in any elegant fashion. even worse, how are you going to depict use of mental powers? vague streams of light flowing from the user's furrowed brow to the target person/item? doesn't seem compelling enough on-screen to non-fans.

Another vote for a movie based on Ian M. Banks "Culture" books. I would love to that universe get the full blown big budget CGI treatment. Banks is one of those rare SciFi authors who really lets his imagination rip and comes up with something original and not derivative (Orbitals not withstanding).

I'd personally love to see Kin Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy adapted onto the big screen.

...would be beyond spectacular. The depth of research on display in those novels astounds me. You'd swear he'd been to Mars.
