YELLOWBEARD!!

The proliferation of bootlegs on well-known auction sites means that there are people who are willing to buy it, but are getting stuck with inferior merchandise...

Jean de Florette
Manon of the Spring
Babette's Feast
among the worst-looking DVDs ever produced by *any* studio...which is a real shame!!!

and the subtitles on the non-anamorphic Babette's feast prevent you from zooming the image on a 16x9 display. It's a travesty that these films are not done properly. They could look so beautiful!

Special editions of Duel in the Sun and Portrait of Jennie with some extras!

Duel in the Sun has a trailer, Jennie is barebones. Martin Scorcese is a great fan of Duel in the Sun and could do a great commentary. Portrait of Jennie at least deserves a trailer or a commentary by a film historian. A flop upon release, Portrait of Jennie is now being hailed as one of the greatest love stories of all time.

Black Stallion in desperate need of a new pristine HD film-tape transfer and proper 16x9 presentation. The current DVD is an EE-halo/digital-noise/MPEG filled mess.

"Telefon" now is in the care of Warner Brothers, who acquired it in the Turner buyout. "The White Buffalo" and "From Noon 'Til Three" are still with MGM Home Entertainment, though.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff...

Thanks, IMDB!

It would be great for MGM to re-release their SE DVDs of Phantasm and The Terminator, both have gone out of print. The SEs had plenty of features so just a re-release with all the previous features and Widescreen transfers would be great.

The recent release of For A Few Dollars More SE in Europe is still missing about 30 seconds of footage. Please can you rectify this for the upcoming Region 1 release.

The footage is contained on the Italian DVD I own and is regularly shown on British TV in this form with English dialogue in the missing footage.
