How's the story in the book? Does it talk about the people on earth or it's an invention for the movie? I was under impression that it was from one man's point of view only. If they switch between Mars and Earth, it might damage the isolation feeling.

I'm halfway through the book and loving it. Can't wait to see the film.

SPOILER

And yes, they switch back and forth.

Might have to read the book, but was disappointed that the trailer seemed pretty "spoilery". Wish they just left us with the plot point of "man stranded on Mars must survive". Show us that but leave the rest of the story a mystery...

Oh well.

Earth & Mars, that's just how the book is. I almost gave up after a couple of chapters, just the guy on his own, using his own poo to try to grow potato's, there's only so much of that you can read, but then things started to happen. All looking good to me so far.

Just finished it. Loved it. Very cinematic and hopefully Scott does it justice unlike his last colossal failure Exodus:Gods and Kings. Watched the trailer right after finishing the book and it looks like they nailed it. Can't wait. [emoji3]

I listened to the audio book. At no point did I want to stop. The book was fascinating and the reader excellent. I really, really want this to be good.

I want it to be good too, but after Interstellar I'm really about done with Matt Damon.

I read a few of the Log Entries of The Martian each night in bed.

watched 1 minute. that's all I needed. Looks pretty good... i liked Interstellar, didn't love it but planning a revisit... in fact, I just watched the episode of Neil's Cosmos about black holes (Sky full of Ghosts, I think) and that was much more exciting, put my little brain on the floor actually

I'm serious Andy. Don't mean to exasperate you. Your comment was a bit ambiguous. Just wondering what you thought.

The Martian (2015) frequency waterfall spectrum lab, monitored on Lucasfilm Ltd THX Sound System, crossover/monitor. LCR (MIX).

I like it so looks like The Martian will have some lows just below 20Hz.
