Villain Pick

He lived in your closet or under your bed for years. Whenever the room got dark he would lurk in the shadows and plan ways to kill and eat you. He's probably still down in the basement somewhere right now...

I select...

The Boogeyman

(Picture not available) ;)

Nick: unfortunately Proof isn't out on DVD. New Line should still have the rights. Considering who's in it, I can only imagine why it hasn't been released yet - there's definitely a marketing angle to the film. Anyway, it's worth looking for even if you have to resort to VHS.

I'm up and I'll take a Shakespearean villain:

Iago (from Othello)

Jan is up.

Nice pick, Steve. I thought you meant the bird from Aladdin, so I'm glad you clarified that. :)

Eh, take away Han's blaster and what have you got? A wuss!

Now that I've finished my roster of heroes, here are some that almost made the cut:

Zorro
Solomon Kane (a cool Robert E. Howard character, but I already had one black-garbed avenger in the Shadow)
Beowulf
Dr. Who
Mad Max
Snake Plissken
Tarzan
Dr. Syn
Ford Prefect :D

Some villains:

Dr. Mabuse (from the Fritz Lang films, but too obscure I figured)
Herbert West (from the H.P. Lovecraft short story and the movie Re-Animator)
Khan Noonien Singh (Khaaaaaaannnnn!!!!!!!)

I was also considering Ford Prefect (or Zaphod Beeblebrox). Beowulf is a good one.

My also-rans:
Yoda (already picked Gandalf as a very "obvious" choice, didn't want to pick another one)
Neo (see Yoda)
Albus Dumbledore (seemed too close to Gandalf)
Rincewind the Wizzard (seemed too close to Gandalf, except much less effective)
Sanjuro (almost picked him as my last choice, but decided I wanted a "real life" guy)
Albert Einstein (didn't seem very useful)
Austin Powers (couldn't forgive him for Goldmember)

There were a couple others, but I've forgotten them.

Oooooo, Mad Max! Thanks, Steve.

I claim...

Mad Max

...as my final hero. (Because "we don't need another hero")

Brad

PS. I was also considering Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!

Martin: had to think for a minute on Rincewind - I've only read the first book in that series.

I'd also considered Artemis Fowl for my villain roster. :)

Mike is up.

Mad Max was a great pick, I was so close to picking him.

I also thought of Albert Einstein, Martin. But like you said he wouldn't have much use.

Kneel before:

-General Zod

and

-Satan

- If that is classed as a non-no in the draft, then I guess i'll just base my selection on Al Pacino's fictitious portrayal. :)

Okay, Brian has about three hours left on his turn (he needs to make his final two selections), then it's Mike( and he needs to make his final two selections).

After that it's Brad, Scott, and me.
