Still plan to watch:

Don't own Scrooged, but I'd like to catch it sometime too.

Sure enough, the ex must have bought "The Santa Clause". I have it no more.:frowning: Can't believe I didn't replace it last year. Could have sworn I picked it up previously viewed...I'll have to keep my eye open for a good sale price.
Maybe I went crazy and filed it under "T" for "The". I'd better check again to be sure.

For me, I'll probably watch, either in part or in their entirety:

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
A Christmas Carol (TNT version with Patrick Stewart as Scrooge)
A Christmas Story

Dear all,

what are your best picks for Christmas movies? I've got some, and will order more with the DDD sale. But which more?? Help me out. Thanks!

Here's what I have (note that I have a wide definition of what fits, and for the sake of others, please chime in on what I have if you think they are xmas classics):

The Santa Clause (Disney/Tim Allen)
It’s a Wonderful Life
A Christmas Carol (Alastair Sim)
A Christmas Carol (George C. Scott aka Buck Turgidson)
Planes, Trains, Automobiles
Christmas Vacation
Home Alone 1 and 2
Nightmare before Christmas
Seuss: How the Grinch Stole Christmas (original)
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (Burl Ives voice, Sony 135 [!!] minutes)
Elmo Saves Christmas
Claymation Christmas
PeeWees Christmas Special
Charlie Brown Christmas

Cheers, Dan

Reindeer Games. During the season I always settle down and watch this movie with some hot chocolate and some pecan f***in' pie! But seriously, it's a pretty cool Christmas themed action flick.

Wow, 4th post in and I'm the first to mention A Christmas Story? A classic that rightly deserves to be played for 24 hours straight every year. :emoji_thumbsup:
Since Planes, Trains and Automobiles, a Thanksgiving movie, was mentioned a shout out has to go to an often over-looked gem that my family watches every Turkey Day: Home for the Holidays.

Great list!!
How about...
White Christmas (Danny Kaye and Bing Crosby)
The Bishop's Wife (with Cary Grant)
Miracle on 34th Street (Edmund Gwynn and Maureen O'Hara)
The Homecoming: A Christmas Story
A Christmas Story (Darren McGavin and Peter Billingsley)

And of course, Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas

For the animation fix, Rankin-Bass's
Santa Claus is Coming to Town
Jack Frost
Frosty the Snowman
The Year without a Santa Claus

Those are the ones I could think of off the top of my head and by doing a quick scan of what I have. If you like Tim Allen's The Santa Clause, you might want to take a look at The Snata CLause 2. I haven't seen it - not a big fan of Allen's - but other people have enjoyed it.

I second a lot of what's been named already. Here are some more:

Scrooged
Elf
Scrooge
Christmas in Connecticut
Mickey's Christmas Carol
Jingle All the Way
Recess: Miracle on 3rd Street

Black Christmas is without a doubt the best IMO. It's anything but jolly though.
I also love Bad Santa and Christmas Vacation, and like Gremlins and Christmas Evil. Jingle All the Way with Schwarzenegger is dumb fun.
