Sorry, Sam, I misinterpreted your post when you said "got my new scopes out". I re-read the post, and now understand. Still, I really like the shots.

I shot this one about 4 years ago. Canon 5D Mark II and 100-400 L lens.

Lovely! I personally like to see the 'seas' darkened up a bit, you might try that for a different look, just a thought.

I agree, and the more I think about it the more I'd like to try my hand at editing it =) I know that sounds weird or rude, sorry, but I have literally edited hundreds of moon shots and I've got a series of presets that I think really help make them pop. These sets were specifically designed to help -subpar- optics like my old vivitar turn out great stuff, and no surprise, they do even better with top notch glass like your L and my new 80-400. If you are willing Mark shoot me a pm or simply send the file to my gmail, sposten@gmail.com

Digicams can zoom so closely now that their videos can demonstrate the rotation of the earth in real time:

    A-MAZE-ING.

That got me hooked on watching more YT clips of test shots with that camera and its lens. Wow.

I don't want to get off-topic, but wow:

A decent review which touches on a lot of its features (positive and negative).

When I was but a wee lad back in the late sixties, I was riding my bike one autumn evening. When I arrived at the crest of a steep hill I saw a gigantic moon appear just above the horizon. It was both beautiful and scary at the same time. I thought that it had left it's orbit and was falling towards earth!
