True, but all of the scenes from it are available in widescreen on the 2001 DVD, either in the Director's Cut or on the 2nd disc in the deleted scenes section.


I don't need the SLV on a new Blu-ray either, but it'd be a nice bonus. It was the most widely available version of the film for a number of years, so it does have some historical value, and it would probably be pretty easy to seamlessly branch with the theatrical cut.


As others have stated, the current TMP Blu-ray isn't bad, but the color just doesn't look quite right to me. I've seen it a couple of times in 35mm, and though I don't pretend to remember the specific color values of each shot, the BD does feel colder than I ever remember it being before.
