"Boom" Carter? David Sancious? Mike Appel? The documentary sounds almost better than the concert. Almost. :D

This will only be, what, my fifth CD copy of BTR.

Original copy.
Re-mastered version.
Single-bit Gold with incorrect track points.
Single-bit Gold with track points corrected.
30th anniversary edition.

in case you didn't see it yesterday
Amazon has posted a clip of BTR from the dvd on their homepage

I was ready to pull the trigger on their $29.99 price (don't know that retail will be any better on street) with free shipping

but....
I did a quick scan of other retail sites and saw 2 different listings for this package when I searched for "Born To Run" at Best Buy
one of the listings had the term 'exclusive' with no other details

urghhhhhhhhhh

I pre-ordered as soon as I saw it on their site. If a better deal or a better package comes along, cancelling online with them is a snap.

Can't wait for this!

I hope the sound quality isn't so variable on the DVD. The sound levels were all over the map.

well as the press release stated above

maybe it was just the limitations of the stream but I'm sure the final product was in capeable hands despite any limitations of the dated source material

interesting
this is the second price drop prior to street
though the first was more a reaction to the lower list price

I wonder what b&m prices will look like first week in comparison

SOMETHING WICKED COOL THIS WAY COMES
Born to Run 30th Anniversary box contents pictured above: the 48-page photo booklet, three gatefold disc sleeves, and the black LP-like (complete with grooves!) Born to Run CD.

nope, the listing on their site is still there but no details
It may have been put up with the intention of an exclusive but I don't think anything ever transpired
someone on another forum posted sales info from Best Buy's ad and didn't mention anything about an exclusive.

Not to mention Ben Harper.

Also, I hate to throw a damper on the excitement about this release, but does anyone know if it's going to be infected with Sony's DRM Rootkit copy protection software?

Springsteen was interviewed on CBS this morning, to promote Tuesday's release. Included were Landau and Van Zandt talking about the process of making the album, footage from the studio sessions, comments on his panic attacks at the time, and how much he hated it when it was done. If the footage they showed is in the new package, it should be great.

Last line of the interview: "Okay, that's the story. Now I gotta go to work."

gonna have to somewhat disagree
I obviously haven't seen the source material but I'm sure it was cleaned up quite a bit
and I thought the sound was fantastic

Agreed, sound was great. Video looked like blown up 16mm, which it was...
