Rachael, unless you want to grow your MUSE collection and buy more MUSE discs, I'd skip the X0. Your money would be better spent on a projector (i.e. Sony VP-10WHT or newer) to view some of these LDs.

BTW- In Japan, X0s are still rather easy to find......the X9 is getting harder to obtain.

Keep in mind the X0 weighs 80 pounds WITHOUT packaging. So shipping alone is going to cost you $300+

Update:

The Sony HIL-C1 has a s/n of 50 db
The Sony HIL-C2EX has a s/n of 52 db

These were pulled from the owners manuals and brochures of the Sony units.

I have the brochures for both the X9 and X0 but neither quotes s/n ratios.

Gregg Loewen has a Sony HIL-C2EX, maybe he'd like to chime in with some comments about the picture quality.
