I have a Sony DVP-C670D that I purchased several years ago, and I'm trying to determine if this machine is compatible with DVD-R. I know that it doesn't play CD-R or CD-RW. Does anyone who has this machine have any experience with its capability (or not) to handle DVD-R format?

I have the C650D. I have a coworker that have made a few movies for me to watch on DVD-R and the first several disc he made would not work on my player. He later changed software and now all the DVD-R's play with no problem.

To answer your question, yes, I believe the C670D is capable of playing DVD-R.

Thanks for the advice! I was able to try out a DVD-R last night and my player had no trouble playing it.
