I just finished watching the last episode on the set. Ever since I first heard about the show, I had wanted to see it because I was a big fan of Stack's Night Stand. But my cable system never added FX until this past December, after the show was cancelled, so I never got to see it until this set was released. What a great show it is. I love it. Great blind buy, although it wasn't totally a blind buy becasue I figured the humor was along the same lines as the funny NIght Stand with Dick Dietrick. That should definitely be released on DVD but since the company that produced it is now owned by Paramount, i don't see it happening. I am proud to call myself a "Dickhead." :) (People who watched Night Stand will understand.)
Bring on volume 2 of Son of the Beach, FOX, and Night Stand with Dick Dietrick, Paramount or whoever owns it.

I am fairly certain that DVD Empire at one time had Vol 2 available for preorder for a Sept release, but now it is not there and SotB was not among the fall Fox TV release announcements. Anyone have any updates? I thought Vol. 1 sold pretty well and should guarantee Vol 2.

I may be misremembering at the moment, but I don't recall anything like a date coming through yet for SotB V2. Just tentative plans to have V2 include the rest of S2 and all of S3. Isn't S3 still airing? If so, then it may take a while.

well.. if you look here it still shows a 9/9/03 release (but the cryptic 'this title no longer available').
as for as FX still showing them.. the last (first run) of ep of the series ("Bad News, Mr Johnson") aired on 1 Oct 2002. Since then they have re-aired a few, but it's pretty much been gone off the schedule since Jan (last time my TiVo caught one), so I think it's safe to say it's gone (it no longer fits the "image" [The Shield] FX wants to portray, and other than Comedy Central or Spik... er.. TNN, I can't think of another channel with the 'image' to air it...).
I wish someone would give some definative word (as he looks at the 30gb of HD space being tied up while waiting to decide to author to DVD-R, to wait or to dump with assurance they are coming)....

Now that it seems King of the Hill: Season 2 will indeed be released on Nov. 11, any word on Son of the Beach: Volume 2? Is the Sept. 9 release date correct? If not, I wonder if we can expect it anywhere near that date.

I love "Son of the Beach" and wish FOX would hurry up and announce the Volume 2 DVD set. Given that there were only 43 episodes produced and that the Volume 1 DVD set contains the first 21 episodes (all of Season 1 and half of Season 2), a Volume 2 DVD set would obviously complete the series on DVD with the remaining 22 episodes (half of Season 2 and all of Season 3.) Since Volume 1 is a 3-disc set, I think it's safe to say that Volume 2 would be too. The Sept. 9 release date turned out to be false. We've known that for awhile now. But, I'm wondering if we can expect it by the end of the year? Can't wait to get to the Amy Weber (Porcelain Bidet) episodes. (Season 3, episodes 29-43)

Here are the episodes we will see in the Volume 2 set. (if it ever gets here)

Dude, if I did, I'd be posting some news at TSoD!

Nope, I don't have a clue. SORRY! Nor do I know whatever happened to Shield S2, Malcolm S2, etc.

Since it's obviously not on a 4- or a 6-month cycle, it's probably on a 12-month cycle. Which puts S2 firmly in the grip of late April. Just guessing, but at this point there is no Johnson in sight!
