I probably will, eventually - I've got severe hardware lust going on right now, but not quite enough to get one for that reason alone. It will probably be a pretty tempting tax-refund item early next year, though.

Eventually, but like Jason, probably not until next year.
Unless I hit Powerball or something. :)

That started out alright and then kinda broke down near the end.
I'll probably get one eventually, I just don't know when.

Same here...
I'll be getting one eventually, but unless I get rich quick, probably not till early next year. I do think it has lots of potential, and boy do I want to get my hands on Halo -
but the GC with Rogue Leader will save me some bucks now... :)

If the price of the X-Box goes down by next summer, I'll consider it. Otherwise, I'll probably get it next fall. I really can't justify spending that much money on something when I can spend the same amount and get something with even more (like a GameCube).

Count me in! I have the console preordered but don't know what games I'll be getting yet, too many good ones. Its going to be a long hard decision.

This is an exciting time for console gaming. I'm going to let the dust settle before picking one up. They all have my fave: Madden Football. But only PS2 so far has NCAA Football (uses Madden engine but college teams and stadiums). EA says they'll wait and see if they will put NCAA on any of the other consoles.
I'll probably buy whichever console has 5 games that I want first. So far PS2 only has 2 (Madden/NCAA) and I can play Madden on my PC. It's weird but for some reason the PS2 games just aren't appealing to me, and I was a PS1 owner.

I may get one eventually, but with my recent PS2 purchase and a Gamecube purchase in November, I just don't see the need for one right now. Hell, I don't know how much time the Cube will even see once Metal Gear Solid 2 is released. :)

Throw my hat in the weirdly glowing green ring! I was planning for a year to get one at launch time, but it now looks like I'll have to wait until Xmas. (Say...Xbox...Xmas...hmmm, I'm seeing some big-time promotional potential there...) :)
Halo, DOA3, and Gotham will be blasting through my theater by the new year, this I vow!
I may get a GCN next year, but they better start showing me something. I agree with the above poster--what a great time to be a gamer! I still remember thinking games just couldn't get better than the Smurfs on Colecovision.

Happy gaming to all, and to all a good night.

I'll be picking up a Gamecube at launch simply because it's cheaper and doesn't require you to purchase some form of bundle. I hope to have an X-box by Christmas though.

Still hanging on to my $600 tax rebate check I received in August. Just enough cash to pick up both the XBox and Ultimate TV for Christmas.

Vacuuming ghosts?
Pikmin?
A ruined Metroid?
Pffft....
I'm going XBOX all the way this November.
GC will come later if the situation improves.

I agree with those above who are waiting on Xbox. I was very interested in Halo, but it just isn't the same game it was originally intended to be. No online play, promised 60fps downgraded to 30fps, and now news that Xbox Halo will not include any multiplayer bots. I guess I'll wait for PC Halo (yes Bungie confirmed that PC/MAC Halo is coming) for all these missing options.
I'll pick up Gamecube this Nov. and Xbox next year (hopefully it will be cheaper).

Xbox pre-ordered September 1. Along with Dead or Alive 3, Project Gotham Racing, Raw is War, an extra controller, and the advanced AV pack.
Sweet Gotham glory on November 15.

After seeing Project Gotham's Song track list, I want one now just to give props to the Murder City Devils who are one of the greatest bands EVER! But I still am planning on waiting until Jan.
