OK, for those who want the secret spoiled. Go to TV Guide online and look at the listing for Friends for two weeks from tonight.

Larry, I had to check, of course... and if that is the father, it makes sense. I hope that's how it is.

From the spolier sites that I've seen, tonight's episode is where Rachael reveals the father to to the gang. The episode after that is when she supposedly tells the father...we'll see!

I was watching this with a friend of mine and She was totally trying to guess who it was.
Then I said that I hoped it would be chandler. THat would have been cool. And talk about comedy!

Actually in L.A. they had before the end credits with the hook for you to tune in next week the announcer said (and I paraphrase) "Find out how Ross reacts when he find out that he's the father!!!" Ah you gotta love a network that thinks the audience is the lowest common denominator.

They had the same here in the midwest as well. I thought it was pretty dumb because I suppose some people could still be thinking it could be someone else since they didn't really confirm it yet.
I enjoyed this episode a lot more than last weeks. My GF and I always laugh at monica and Chandler because we are a lot like those characters. The gift/kissing thing tonight was so us. Joey and Phoebe are back to there normal idiot selves...life is good :) I was worried after last weeks that the series was definately in for a slow season, but things are definately looking up now.

My wife and I thought that the "Even?" resolution to Chandler kissing another woman/Monica opening all of the gifts was right on. I think that every married couple watching immediately thought 'yup, they're married now'. If the person reading this now is married I suspect that you know what I mean.
Good episode.

Jim, I definitely agree about the "yep, they're married now" thing.... :)
Really good episode!! Very funny, sweet, and moved the story forward. A huge improvement over the season premiere, IMO.
I'm glad they didn't drag out the "who's the father" angle, as I suspected they would. Ross is already a father, and I think it was a good thing to make him the father of Rachel's baby.

Maybe I'm really being a baby, but does anybody else feel like the writers CHEATED by making Ross the father?!?!
I mean, you'd think a major plot-point like Ross and Rachel hooking up for another romp in the sack would be a major event, not something that is mentioned as an afterthought. I reserve judgement until I see how everything is explained and resolved, but to me it just seems like a cheap trick.

Ian,
A number of times in the past two seasons there have been instances where the two of them have inferred that they are still interested in each other. I believe it was last season that they openly talked about sleeping together to annoy Monica. There was the whole Ross's hands thing in the hall and Ross telling Rachael that he didn't sleep with her sister because he couldn't imagine the possiblilty of not being with Rachael again.
Yeah, to some extent them hooking up is out of the blue but not totally.

Besides the fact that the week after next's TV Guide description says the father is Ross. It was obvious that the owner of the red shirt was indeed the father by Rachel's reaction to it. If it wasn't Ross's OR Tag's (how many of those shirts are there), then why wouldn't Rachel say something to Phoebe before they went into the coffee shop.
Since this is the last season, it makes sense that Ross and Rachel will finally get together (and maybe Joey and Phoebe too). It might not be real, but we get enough reality from the news now.
