Nigel Sixpack owns widescreen TVs that Joe Sixpack doesn't. It's that simple

    *sigh*

Are widescreen TV's really so unprevelant over there?

Over here in the UK almost everyone I know (not all of the film buffs to be certain) who has bought a TV in the last few years has a widescreen TV, they're fast becoming the default choice.

I'm suprised the US seems to be behind in this respect.

Yes they are. To get a widescreen TV you must buy HDTV (though I believe there may be a few obscure cheaper models) basically making minimum buy-in in the $1000 range.

And the criminally underrated Country Bears has just had a widescreen (DTV) release!

(Why didn't any of the excellent songs from this movie get nominated for "Best Original Song" at last year's Oscars?)
