Hi Folks, (newbie here)
I was wondering if there are smaller HDTV's around
and what would be the best price for lets say a 26 inch ?
this would be for my den.
This Forum is great! (lots of info)
I did a search on small hdtv's but could not find anything.
Thanks for any help.

hi

plasmas dont go smaller than 37" (for some reason), so for the size you are considering it will be LCD.

Sony makes a great LCD but it will cost you some bucks. Samsung is okay. I recently tested a Olevia 537 model and it was quite good when you consider the price point of $800-900 for a 37" unit.

There are some very good LCDs, and there as some that are absolute crap.

Thanks Guys.. I will do some more research. maybe I will have
to go to a 36 then , not sure if I would be sitting to close.
the distance would be about 7 or 8 feet away.
Thanks much!

Since the topic of this thread is similar to my question, I thought I would just pose mine here. I'm thinking about buying a 32" TV for my parents, and I can spend up to $1500. I'm considering either the Samsung LN-S3251D or the Sony Bravia KDL-32S2010. Either one has more than enough connections for what they need. Picture quality and reliability/build quality is key. Which one should I get, or is there something else I should consider?

I've had the Sony 2010 for a few weeks, you can get it for $1,100 probably. Very happy with pq, almost as good as my two Sony HDTV CRTs.

Do you have a KD-34XBR970? It's not totally out of my consideration.

I have the 34"XBR910 and 32"HS420 on lower floors. The LCD is for an upper floor bedroom. I could have got the 34"970 for $699!!!! but I just couldn't deal with a third tube set, and couldn't get it upstairs anyway. If weight were not a problem I'd jump on the 970. I've also found that both the Sony tubes and LCD do very well with SDTV.

OLEVIA 337H 37 Inch (LCD), well it is here and I have been using it for
about 3 weeks now and love it. no problems at all.you can not beat
the price for a high def TV for a spare room. thinking of getting
a second one for the master bedroom. I do have a plasma as well ,
As far as LCD and Plasma. I like the picture better on a plasma set
for my own taste. but this little 37 inch (LCD) is perfect for a small room!

I settled on the 40V2500 after much comparison. I'm very happy with the decision. I paid $1850 on sale at J&R.
