I too wish Universal would get off its duff and release Season 4 -- once the show was taken away from the barfulous, ham-fisted butchery of the FOX executives during Season 3, the show got some great SF writers who were actually allowed to *write* again (and David Peckinpah by and large got relegated to the sidelines).

Some great episodes in the fourth year, and it returned the show to its Season 1 and 2 roots, which was desperately missed...even Maggie emerged as a genuine flesh-'n-blood character in this year, which I never would've believed possible in the Movie-Rip-Off-of-the-Week™ mess that the show became in the previous season.

Anybody heard anything lately?

SLIDERS was a fun show for most of its years on FOX, but aside from a disasterous 3rd season ruined by horror film remakes, the two seasons produced for the Sci-Fi Channel were very much the opposite: Season 4 with the Mallory brothers (played by the O'Connell brothers) and a return to the sci-fi element that the show began with was a plus, but killing off the Mallorys when Jerry & Charlie left the show resulted in two weak new characters in the 5th and final season. The writing on at least 2/3 of the last episodes of the series was horrible. Then finally a cliffhanger ending that was never resolved: Did Rembrandt get back to his home Earth? SLIDERS died an unsatisfying death.
