Mike - Here's to you being on the mend, fighting fit, feeling better, onward, upward, with haste and an awful lot of man hugs ready and waiting for you, albeit in cyberspace, when you get back online.

I hope you can see just how much you're loved and missed around these parts - from the many who have added their voice, and the legions more who said a libraries worth of silent prayers for you and your family.

Stay on the mend - we'll do our best keep the place dust free and civil until you return,

All the sincere best from my family to yours,
Neil

Just noticed this today, way after the fact.

But I'd still like to offer my support and thank you for all you do.

And I missed Kevin's bump of this thread!

Thanks, again, to everyone for their encouragement.

My recuperation continues. Still no work. And every little thing still tires me out.

But now that the temperatures in upstate NY are starting to warm up, I figure me and Ike (and my wife Peg and our other dog, Kelly) will start to pound the pavement and get in some daily walks.

I have even started some very short-distance driving! Woohoo!

I will share the films I have watched since I've been home from the hospital (I don;t usually track the films I've watched. I wish I did):

Man of Steel (Awful!)
Jesse James (1939)
All is Lost
Captain Phillips
Jungle Book
The Desk Set
Jane Eyre (1943)
Hunger Games: Catching Fire
The Agony and the Ecstasy
Snakes on a Plane (possibly the worst movie I've ever seen)
Lawrence of Arabia

Hey gang!

Another month has gone by and I'm still not back to work although I've gone in and said hello on a couple of occasions to remind them I'm still around!

I'm expecting to start some part-time hours very soon though and kind of "ease back in" to things.

Hanging out on the forum has been a good thing for me in terms of keeping me out of my wife's hair!

One of her editors at Guideposts magazine just posted this version of our story up on his blog today. I thought I'd share it here for anyone who might be interested.

Time for me to step up the exercise program. I've got to start more walking and build myself up to a couple of miles as I've got another surgery ahead of me this summer or fall.

And here is my updated list of "Recuperation Movies:"

Man of Steel (Awful!)
Jesse James (1939)
All is Lost
Captain Phillips
Jungle Book
The Desk Set
Jane Eyre (1943)
Hunger Games: Catching Fire
The Agony and the Ecstasy
Snakes on a Plane (possibly the worst movie I've ever seen)
Lawrence of Arabia
The Book Thief
The House at the End of the Street (even with J-Law... )
Olympus Has Fallen (I don't know why, but I really like this film! )
Break Out (Kurt Russell(
Dallas Buyers Club
The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug
History of the World: Part 1
City Lights (Chaplin)
Harry Brown (Michael Caine)

And, of course, much baseball and various TV shows (such as Little House on the Prairie, Nurse Jackie, and Dick Van Dyke). Now I hope to settle in to The Wind and the Lion and the R&H box set and see what all the fuss is about!

:wave-hello:
