Sea Hunt looks great on TGG's DVD's . Real pressed DVD's , nice transfers from excellent source material, and quality packaging . Even the price is right .
Hi, Lou -

Have you watched the entire series? I've watched all of Season One but haven't gotten to the others yet.

Hi Rich,
I watched all of season 1, 2, and 3 and I'm halfway through season4. Previously I watched the 24 Hour Marathon which I bought because I had no patience for the delay in getting the season sets! Everything I've watched has been excellent quality. I only wish TGG would issue more ZIV shows.

I finished watching this Sea Hunt a few months ago and I have to admit that I really enjoyed it. It got me thinking about similar shows . One that comes to mind is the revival of Sea hunt with Ron Ely. I was wondering if there were any hope for it to show up on DVD. I recall that I found it to be uninteresting when it ran as a syndicated show (back in the 80s?), but I'm ready to give it another look.

Meanwhile, another show in this genre is Underwater Adventure with Bill (Kit Carson) Williams . Alpha released 2 volumes with a total of 8 episodes a few years back. I'd like to see more of this show. Even though it's really sort of a rip off/ clone of Sea Hunt I found it to be enjoyable. Williams almost seems to be doing an impersonation of Bridges .

Last but not least , there was a show called the Acquanauts , with Kieth Larson. I think that was a ZIV show like Sea hunt . But it doesn't look like we'll see other ZIV releases on DVD in the

future .

The Mermaids of Sea Hunt Photo Essay #1

A Tribute to Lisa Gaye (March 6, 1935 – July 14, 2016)

Leslie Gaye Griffin better known as Lisa Gaye, was an American actress, and dancer. Wikipedia.
What was intended as the beginning of a new photo essay series also begins as a tribute to the life and to the beauty of Lisa Gaye who passed away at age 81 six years ago today July 14th. Her career spanned 28 years beginning at age 7 through her final appearance on The Mod Squad in 1970. Perhaps she is best known as Gwen Kirby in the final 1958-1959 season of How to Marry a Millionaire. Her many performances included three episodes of The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show in 1956, 13 episodes of The Bob Cummings Show as Colette Dubois, five episodes each of the ABC/Warner Brothers detective series, Hawaiian Eye and 77 Sunset Strip, two episodes of another WB series Bourbon Street Beat, seven episodes of Perry Mason, and eleven episodes of the syndicated anthology series, Death Valley Days, along with several episodes of Sea Hunt.

Throughout the remainder of the day I will be posting images of those 5 episodes of Sea Hunt in tribute to her lifetime achievements.

Nice photo essay of Jan Harrison episodes, Neal! She was my favorite Sea Hunt co-star. I watched Underwater Curtain recently featuring Jan and future Combat star Jack Hogan. Jan was also excellent in the Killer Whale episode (season 1).

Thank you Tom!

Yes I did prescreen S01E11 Killer Whale an excellent episode as you noted but it didn't translate as well to a photo essay.
How about seeing a pre-Festus Ken Curtis underwater in the The Octopus Story? He was a much better actor than people gave him credit for and a fine singer too.

Yes, I did notice Ken Curtis in your essay from The Octopus Story, Neal. Probably shortly before he got the role of Jim Buckley on Ripcord. It seems so often that guest stars show up as regulars on their own show within a year or so. Both Ziv shows too.

Was it you, Neal who posted that interview with Ken Curtis a few months ago? I think he sang it that one. I enjoyed it.

Good point. How true. A test run so to speak.

It could be you are referring to this Norwegan television special, Lørdagskveld med Erik Bye (1970-1971) which I first posted at Obscure Classic TV Shows - Post Your Favorites then at Gunsmoke including a link to where it originated from. Click 4. Besøk av Ken Curtis; "Festus" fra Krutrøyk, og fru Torrie Curtis below the video which is superior in quality to the YouTube upload posted at the KenCurtisFans channel.
