I'm so glad to finally seeing a few films on the marquee that look somewhat inspiring. This weekend we'll get:
Don't Say a Word
Hearts in Atlantis
Serendipity
Soul Survivors
Zoolander
A little something for everyone. I could probably stomach seeing all of them, which isn't something I've been able to say for several weeks.
Anybody else jazzed about a robust lineup?

Don't Say a Word - Directed by a no talented hack, so I'll be avoiding that one.
Hearts in Atlantis - Looks like it could be a great film, I should see it.
Serendipity - I've already seen the three minute cut of the film before The Others. (Note: This weekend, it's a sneek peek.)
Soul Survivors - Came out earlier this month and is expanding this weekend. From most reports, this film is your basic teen movie piece of crap.
Zoolander - It looks like crap, but I love Stiller, so hopefully this will be decent. I might end up seeing this with friends instead of Hearts in Atlantis.
Sadly, from the looks of it, this might be the only decent movie weekend till November (as the only two movies as of now worth seeing in October are From Hell and Mulholland Drive, but K-PAX and 13 Ghosts might be worth checking out).

I snuck a peek at Rotten Tomatoes, and Zoolander was totally rotten! :) I'll go see it because Ben Stiller makes me laugh.
I'm also looking forward to seeing "Hearts in Atlantis" and "Serendipity" (Kate Beckinsale looks so darn cute in the previews).

Here in the Tampa, Florida area, we're just getting Ghost World, so I'm ecstatic about this movie weekend.
I'm also finally getting a chance to see Apocalypse Now Redux (it's been playing a week already) and I'm considering going to the sneak of Serendipity (John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale? I'm there!)... I guess I'll have to wait a little longer to see Zoolander.

It has Eliza Dushku, and that's good enough for me.

Maybe they updated it, but Zoolander is now sitting at 67% [71% for cream of crop].
I'm kind of conflicted, My first reaction is 'way too stupid.' But usually with Ben Stiller or Will Ferrell, stupid is good. Will Stiller and Ferrell add to or subtract from each other. Probably worth a try.

The only film that was released today that may be worth seeing is "Hearts in Atlantis" which is getting really good reviews.
It's another one of those non-horror Steven King stories that seem to be his best material for movies.

As for the bad rap about the characters--hey, I've seen space operas that put their emphasis on human personalities and relationships. They're called "Star Trek" movies. Give me transparent underwater cities and vast hollow senatorial spheres any day. --Roger Ebert on The Phantom Menace

Joel, a friend of mine who say Soul Survivors said that it wasn't good enough (even with Eliza Dushku!)
I liked "Bubble Boy", if that's any indication of my tolerance-level... :)

I think the summers gotten a unfair bad rap -- it's been a good movie year in all, for me. This week is pretty blah, though, for my interests.
Don't Say a Word -- looked interesting, but the local reviewer (whom I trust) rated it poorly
Hearts in Atlantis -- looks like The Green Mile, which I found mediocre. I'll pass on Atlantis.
Zoolander -- I like "Ernest Goes to Camp" stupid, not "Zoolander" stupid.
Serendipity, and Soul Survivors -- don't know anything about them.
But like someone else said, Apoc. Now Redux finally opened in my neck of the woods!
But it's a good rental week. "Blow" is out.

I am sure I will see Zoolander eventually and also many people seem to be forgetting that JOYRIDE is out soon.
JOYRIDE looks pretty damn good.

Ricky
