I'm back. Original post and prompt answer got my Yamaha
sound bar working but for only 15 mins before it died. Took it back to Costco and got a Samsung HW-FM45C. Not exactly what I wanted but that's the only Samsung bar they had.
My thinking was that surely a Samsung bar would be accessed by the Samsung tv remote of or the Direct TV remote. No such luck. It needed it's own dedicated remote.
Here;s what I need any suggestions welcomed. I have a Samsung tv and Direct TV as the service provider. TV is in the bedroom so not really interested in a sub woofer. Don't want a bevy of remotes on the night stand so want to be able to control the sound bar from either the Samsung or ideally from the Direct tv remote. It looked like the Yamaha would have worked for me if it hadn't died.
