What is the best way to remove veneer that was applied with contact cement about three years ago?

Im guessing a power sander like a belt or orbital with some 150 grit then 400 grit. Contact cement is usualy water proof so there is no way your going to steam it off.

Hell, I was going to say belt sander with 60-80 grit sand paper. Or maybe a heat gun. It might somehow reactivate the veneer and cause it to bubble. Never tried either method though.

Hmm. Neither sounds like much fun!
Would I run into any issues by sanding off the poly and reapplying veneer over the old stuff?
