receiver connection question (1 Viewer)

If I connect only my TV and speakers to my receiver and then I keep my Gamecube connected to my TV, will the Gamecube still be able to decode Dolby Pro Logic II audio correctly (through the TV)... or do I have to connect my Gamecube directly into the receiver itself?

Anyone know? I have never owned a receiver before, so I just want to be clear on this.
