I gather HOOSIERS was a great experience for the composer. As was RUDY also for David Anspaugh. Goldsmith was signed to do Anspaugh's THE GAME OF THEIR LIVES but, tragically, passed away shortly before he started working on it.

I love HOOSIERS. It's a genuinely great movie.

Anspaugh and Angelo Pizzo were heartbroken when Goldsmith died before he could do The Game of Their Lives.

And yes, both the other films were great experiences for the guys and for Goldsmith. Mostly, from what I've gleaned, because Goldsmith simply liked the guys and liked the movies. And he wanted to help tell those stories.
