Pardon my ignorance, but this is something I have been wondering. I know the bulbs on projectors only last a certain amount of time until they blow, and they aren't the cheapest things to replace. I can't help but wonder, why don't projector manufacturers use L.E.D bulbs in projectors? A 60 watt L.E.D is IMMENSELY bright, uses far less energy then a regular bulb of equal brightness, doesn't get nearly as hot, and should last a life time (50,000 to 100,000 hours!) Unless there is something I'm missing as to why these aren't used, or maybe there are some projectors that use them that I'm not aware of? I'm just very curious. Again, pardon me if this is a stupid question.

They are using them, but they're still too expensive. More new LED models were just introduced at the CES show.
