No one's scared enough of the X-Box to waste time making things like that...

Kidding! Only kidding! :)

I guess it's been too long since I was into the console religious wars (Atari v. C64), but I have to say I don't get the humor (or 'slams') of most of the anti-GC ads.
The first one -- it's obvious.
The second -- it seemed to me an effective ad /for/ the GC. Given the common complaint of PC games being pushed too heavily by 'suits' who don't play games, this suggested games made by those who love games and are having fun. Even though I'm an adult, it suggests to me the glee I had as a kid playing games.
The third one -- purple == girlish? Uhmm...Ok... The GC purple is close to a royal purple, which is more commonly assosicated with strength, leadership, virtue, and domination. Rightly so, I think :)
The fourth one -- a little similar to the second. Suggests the GC is family friendly, and will have a strong future (will be around for these kids to play it).
Well, it's clear I'm not the target audience for these parodies. :)

I don't understand why there was even a war between those two platforms... everyone knows that the C64 kicked Atari's ass in every department!!!

Here is the funniest one. What makes this one so funny is, unlike the pictures posted above, this is not a fanboy made image but an actual official one!

Ahh, the 'Americana' approach with that last Ad,
...wonder if it will catch on at all in Japan?

Ok, that mock Start/Win controller is funny.
I really could use that for a few levels in "Rogue Squadron" on my N64, as well Tony Hawk 2 on my PC :)

I hope I'm not the first one to say that Penny Arcade is generally not funny. I get it, but I don't see the comedy. Just a little sidenote.
Thank you for the link to the comic though, since it deals with the subject of this thread.

*thinks to himself* Strangely, I feel as though I will want to pick up one of those 'reboot' controllers, just in case.
