Please help with set up. Marantz Sr7500/LG 55LM9600 (1 Viewer)

I'm planning on installing my new Marantz sr7005 and a new LG 55' led 3D TV as well as a new Apple TV this weekend(all HMDI). I;m planning on using my old Pioneer elite DVD until i decide whether or not I need a Blue Ray 3D player. I going to use Component cables as well as a optical audio input as well(unless anybody has any suggestions otherwise).I also have a Squeezebox touch am i better off suing a optical output rather then the RCA cables? I assume I need to get the TV up and running first than the receiver next so it will be easier to calibrate it? Does anyone have any suggestions or guidance to prevent any pitfalls? TIA. Larry

Digital is always better than 2 channel analog(RCA red/white). Make sure to have the TV and AVR unplugged.
