    Film Forum, and other revival theaters, presented these films 1.37 because they assumed that was correct and didn't know they were composed for widescreen. Dial M is composed for 1.85, House of Wax is not. Bob

    I wouldn't judge anything by video frame grabs. You never know how far in the original picture has been zoomed-in on.

    That article was a LOT of work and was basically done to combat all the PR and spin that Hondo was only shown in a few theaters in 3-D and that it was originally anaglyph. Plus, they were claiming it was a new restoration when in fact, Dan Symmes and Michael Wayne had already restored it on 35mm film years earlier. Of course, the same myth exists about KISS ME KATE hardly playing anywhere in 3-D in 1953... Bob

    I remember posting a link to the HONDO article back in 2007 or 2008. So much mis-information was circulating. Solid research and lucid writing actually did a lot of good, I think.
