Well, I'm going to retire my VARIOUS tape (and VIDEOGRAPHY) anyway. I'm not crazy about the AbFab song or video.

Seems to be out in Region 2 (first at last!) -this from CD Wow:

"It contains 41 tracks – every video in chronological order for every Pet Shop Boys single up to “I get along”, plus a three-hour interview/commentary with Neil and Chris which can be accessed between or during tracks. Three "extended" versions of videos are also included.

The quality of both sound and images has been improved through remastering at Abbey Road Studios.

With a total running time of over six hours, this DVD is the definitive visual document of the Pet Shop Boys career."

BUT it says one disc?? Is this a bad sign for a 6 hour disc? Maybe I shouldn't order it until we here more??

that's what i'm thinking. how in the world can they get SIX hours of stuff onto one dvd? wouldn't that equate to a horrible bit-rate???

Couldn't find anything other than the track listing on the PSB official site. Being the techno-heads they are, I hope they'd realize that 6 hours of content on 1 DVD is really pushing it. Maybe it's a dual sided DVD-18.

i'm thinking the 3 hr interview is just a commentary track on the videos played continuously, so it's just 3 hrs of videos + 3 hrs of commentary (like when they say a 2 hr DVD with 2 commentary tracks has 6 hrs of entertainment).

still 3 hrs seems long for 41 songs.

eric, i hope you're right. heck, you just about have to be. i don't know of any dvd that can hold six hours of content?

3 hours sounds about right???

41 songs times 4 minutes (avg) = 164 minutes.

i mean, i'm sure i'll get this no matter what...i can't imagine psb (who are technically savvy folks) would allow an inferior dvd. sheesh...even the beastie boys requested criterion to do their project.

DVD's could theoretically hodl that much. it would just look like crap. I believe it's been done with porn.

Yes the interview is a commentary track, not a seperate feature. The audio is 2.0 still, I believe. Have not heard otherwise. A 5.1 remix would have been just way too cool.

BTW - edited my last comment about the booklet. I didn't mean it to sound like 40 pages of pics was a good thing. :)

Just to update this; I just rec'd my Canadian pressing of this. Only sampled it but it seems to be a nice disc.

I don't know if it's been released in America yet, there's been a lot of rumor on when it's going to be released here.

Does anybody agree that the music video to "Always on my mind" featuring a guest appearance by the great Josh Auckland is easily the most entertaining music video of all time. (With the exception of Christina Aguilari's "dirty" :D )

No, because it's taken from the absolutely abysmal PSB film, It Couldn't Happen Here. I'm a big fan of PSB, but even I can't stomach that movie.

BTW, it's Joss Ackland.

yeah, i've seen that LD. while the movie is for acquired tastes (one i don't have), the images still make for a great video. one of my favourites from PSB.

btw i wish they would have added more pre-song movie stuff into the video. i think i remember there was a newsradio bulletin about a murderer running on the loose dressed as a priest or something?
