i purchased the mini series when it came out on dvd. i believe a new company shout has bought the right to the studio that previously released it. i also read on amazon.com that the version released was cut by one hour. i wonder if we will get the whole thing.

I never realized there was hour cut until after i bought the set. I still love the miniseries, especially how covers two wars. Sam Elliot does an amazing job in the mini-series. I am a huge mini-series fan as i grew up in the decade when mini-series were popular. I have the following mini-series on dvd
1. Once a Soldier
2. Pearl
3. Martian Chronicles
I like to get the following
1. Winds of War
2. Shogun
3. Roots
4. Holocaust
or other miniseries

Why did they cut an hour out of a mini-series? Seems very strange. Do we have any conformation this is really so? Doesn't sound like Timeless to do something like that and according to some of the reviews it's due to faulty copies/discs. I have the set too and will check if anything's missing though I suppose it's too late for any replacements now, so if this is a big techical errror TMG must comment on it and if possible re-release it sometime down the line.

I love this mini-series!! I am surprised the once a soldier did not gain more of a following.

Someone mention that Once an Eagle set has an hour cut from the dvd. Can anyone confirm that is the case?
